I have had my computer crash twice with the new BSOD running Windows 8. I just finished re-imaging this computer as it was crashing before, sure enough I'm still having issues. Can anyone help? I think it may be hardware related.

Dell Inspiron 1720
Windows 8 Pro 64 bit
4 GB Ram
Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 @ 2.50 GHZ
Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT

.Zip file is attached.

Thanks

Hi there are some drivers on your system that are out-of-date, please update these drivers or remove them if un-needed. Since I can't find Windows 8 drivers for your system I suggest un-installing them, it's possible Windows 8 will have it's own versions of them:

rixdpx64.sys, rimmpx64.sys - Ricoh Memory Card Reader driver: Driver Reference Table
netwlv64.sys - Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN: Driver Reference Table
b44amd64.sys - Broadcom NDIS driver: Driver Reference Table
VSTAZL6.SYS, VSTCNXT6.SYS, VSTDPV6.SYS - Conexant SoftK56 Modem Driver: Driver Reference Table
OEM02Dev.sys, OEM02Vfx.sys - Creative Video Camera Device Driver: Driver Reference Table

If you don't know how to update devices please see this:

http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/9695-driver-install-device-manager-windows-8-a.html (you can try "search automatically")

You can also delete/disable drivers using the device manager by right clicking on them and selecting "un-install".

Thanks for the quick reply. According to my device manager, all my drivers are up to date. How did you find out there was some not up to date? I'm not sure how to update them if it tells me they are already up to date. So you think this is a driver problem causing my BSOD's rather than hardware related? Thanks again for all your help, much appreciated.

I think your BSOD is caused by drivers simply because there are simply because of the out-of-date drivers on your system, I saw some go as far back as 2007. Your laptop is not really meant for Windows 8 if I'm truthful, I say this because when I went to the manufacturers website all I could find were drivers for windows xp and vista. That's not to say you can't get your system to work with windows 8 but I think you'll need to remove those drivers so that hopefully Windows 8 will install it's own.

There is a command I can issue in Windows Debugging Tools that can list the drivers on the system, I then put the list into another program and I can filter any driver with a date less than 2012. These are the results I got, you can see the driver dates:

First we have to eliminate driver problems, which account for around 70% of BSOD's before checking hardware.
