Hi everyone,

I just installed a 2 TB hard drive brand new after my old 1.5 TB hard drive failed and I got the new 2 TB from Western Digital since my old one was still in warranty.

I just plugged it in and started the computer and my mouse cursor was really slow and everything lagged, then I got a "Driver Power Failure" (something along those lines). It restarted and now my computer works fine as before.

What i have attached i have previous BSOD, its the newest one... as its blaming some "ntoskrnl.exe"

FYI my past dumps indicated my sata controller was out of date and causing previous crashes which was caused partly by my old hard drive failing. Its fine and i'm aware of it. Also many have said to uninstall my mcafee and/or my malwarebytes. I have the free Malwarebytes and there's no life protection, I paid for my mcAfee and it does the job its supposed to

All i'm asking is if my last dump has anything else new besides what I have stated above or if it was caused by what I said above

Thanks in advance

I thought I answered a week ago: http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-crashes-debugging/22155-watchdog-bsod.html

jraid.sys is still the cause of BSOD but more importantly, please uninstall McAfee. I have lost count of how many problems I helped resolved BSOD's with McAfee installed. You have to download the special uninstaller from their website to uninstall.

EDIT: You said in other thread that you have no issue with McAfee so just temporarily uninstall it to see if the problem still persists.

And please be kind to report back how it goes.

Yes thanks again for the reply,

I just got the Watchdog BSOD again, as I was trying to reply to you a few minutes ago. I will buy a new SATA/IDE card and hope I can find a good one that's Windows 8 capable. I will uninstall McAfee and see how it goes from there.

I just thought something else came up as I never got the "power-state-failure" BSOD and it happened after installing a new hard drive that is not connected to the Jraid controller.

Ill reply to this thread on anymore issues or updates!

Thanks again, topgundcp!

Before shopping for new SATA/IDE card. Just wait to see if uninstalling McAfee will cure the problem.

Windows Defender is sufficient enough to protect your PC and in addition, turn off Autorun then you should be OK.

How to turn off Autorun:

Win+X -> Run and type gpedit.msc

Administrative Templates >Windows Components > Autoplay Policies
, double click "Turn off Autoplay", Next is click Enabled, and then select All drives so that you can disable Autorun on all drives.

Actually, now that I remember, this is already my second SATA/IDE card. The first one I had, had no windows 8 drivers, I had BSOD non-stop from that. Then I got the jraid and it was better but I still got it. I took it out for a few months to let windows 8 update everything (since I got it the first day the official release) and see if windows had to work out a few bugs.

However, I will uninstall mcafee! Ill keep you posted if anything else comes up

And so I have had McAfee uninstalled for more than a week and I woke up to a BSOD. Of what kind, I do not know. Please let me know if jraid was the problem or not. Please and thank you.
