    BSOD on new computer

    Hello,

I have been having the BSOD with a new computer. It is a Vaio notebook, probably not even a week old. There's been a couple of programs installed, but all from ninite.com. Could anyone help me out with this please?

    Thank you

All BSOD's were caused by vuhub.sys (Virtual Usb Hub). The driver dated 11/16/2007. Go to the manufacturer website to get the latest version.

    Thank you.

I'm not entirely sure how to update that driver. Would someone be kind enough to lead me in to that direction please?

    Thank you

Can anyone help me out with this please? I'm not sure if the vuhub.sys is associated with the router or an actually driver on my laptop. I tried Googling for the answer, but I'm coming up with results that are confusing me.

    Thank you

vuhub.sys is a driver file from company ELTIMA Software belonging to product USB to Ethernet Connector. Do you have this USB dongle plugged in the USB port ?

No I don't an adapter such as that.

The problem occurred when I recently got a new Asus router (RT-N66R). It has two USB ports on the back, so I wanted to connect an HP scanner/printer to the router for two notebooks and a desktop. I followed the instructions that was included with the router and the webpage settings (192.168.x.x). It too work for a while.

Then the notebooks started getting errors and shut downs. The two notebooks are running Windows 7 and 8.

OK. This might be a problem with the ASUS router that uses this driver and known to cause the system to crash. Here is a link from Amazon customer review:
Amazon.com: Customer Reviews: ASUS RT-N13U Wireless-N Router, Access Point, and Repeater. This guy had exactly the same problem. Go to this website and search for "vuhub.sys" and read the review.

Even though it's a different model but they probably use the same technology. Suggest that you return the router and get something else.

Be kind to report back how it goes

    Thank you for that.

I think I'll be keeping the router and just not use the printer server function. I will continue to do more investigating, but I really like this router for the actual use of a router. It is light years ahead of what my old router was.

Thank you for your suggestions and help.
