PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA ntoskrnl.exe

My hard drive died a week ago and I finally got a new drive and began re-installing everything today. All was going well up until the point that I had everything that I needed installed, so I began to overclock. I pushed it a bit too far and I had to reset my BIOS to get it to boot. Since then every time I boot the system as soon as everything is loaded I get a BSOD with the error listed in the title. (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA ntoskrnl.exe) I would really not like to have to start all over again. The SF file is attached as per the posting rules.

Thank you for any help,
arbartz

You have a Linksys WUSB600N Wireless-N USB Network Adapter with Dual-Band ver. 2
I do not recommend using wireless USB network devices. Especially in Win7/Win8 systems.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7(and I suspect with Win8) - using Vista drivers with them is almost sure to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have Win7/Win8 drivers - DO NOT use Vista drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.

You have 4 hard drives. What is the make/model/wattage and age of your Power Supply?

The drivers for these devices aren't installed. Please install them:
Multimedia Controller PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4D50&SUBSYS_A6981002&REV_00\4&3A7CD15B&0&28A4 The drivers for this device are not installed.

PCSGU250 Oscilloscope/Function Generator USB\VID_10CF&PID_2501\5&331BFE27&0&1 The drivers for this device are not installed.
The multimedia controller belongs to your ATI Technologies Inc ATI Unified AVStream Driver - probably part of the drivers for your video card. Please update them from the ATI/AMD website. The Oscilloscope likely is from Velleman: Velleman, Inc. - Start - Overview

AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems.
Please un-install all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Un-install a program
Then, download (but DO NOT install) a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD (in the upper right corner of the page)
Use this procedure to install the DRIVER ONLY: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure

If the device (AODDriver or AODDriver4.01) remains a problem, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Non-Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Un-install". Reboot for changes to take affect.
Sometimes the driver remains and continues to cause BSOD's. If this is the case for you, post back and we'll give further instructions for safely removing it.

If overclocking, please stop. Remove the overclock and return the system to stock/standard values while we're troubleshooting. Once the system is stable again, feel free to resume the overclocking.

The memory dumps blame ALSysIO64 - a driver component of Core Temp. Please uninstall it. I recommend this free utility instead: http://www.hwinfo.sys

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Thank you for your response. I have been very busy so I apologize for the late reply.

  • USB WiFi Adapter: It is using the drivers that came with windows or were updated via Windows Update
  • Power Supply: Thermaltake Toughpower 775W less than 1 year old
  • ATI Media Controller: ATI TV Tuner PCI 650, I have now installed the driver
  • O-Scope: I have now installed the driver
  • AMD Overdrive: AMD overclocking program, the BSOD's started to occur soon after I started playing with it.
I have returned the motherboard to the default config, thus clearing any overclocking. But I cannot un/install anything because I can only get into safe mode. It BSOD's almost instantly after logon.

What are your recommendations for removing the drivers in question if I can't uninstall the programs associated with them?

Thank you again,
arbartz

Uninstall the AMD/ATI stuff in Safe Mode.
Alternately, follow this procedure in Safe Mode: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure

I recall installing video drivers in Safe Mode - but can't recall if it was nVidia or ATI.

Have you tried this?:
If the device (AODDriver or AODDriver4.01) remains a problem, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Non-Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Un-install". Reboot for changes to take affect.

If so, then try this:
If AODDriver2.sys is still present and the software/device isn't present and the driver isn't needed - then please do this (thanks to jcgriff2):
Bring up elevated Admin cmd prompt -
START | type cmd.exe | RIGHT-click on cmd.exe | "Run as Administrator" | type/ paste the following -
Code:
where /r c:\ /f /t AODDrive*.* > 0 & start notepad 0
It may take a few minutes.

A Notepad will open wth the results. That will state the location of all OverDrive drivers.
Please post the results in your next post.

Then:
- create a System Restore point.
- create a System Repair disc and ensure that it works. To do this, go to Start...All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc
- un-install all ATI video stuff using Control Panel...Programs...Un-install a program (this may make the next 3 steps unnecessary - if so, just continue on).

- check in services.msc to see if there is an AOD service. If there is, set it to "Disabled" for the startup type.
- then disable any startups that name AODDriver2.sys using Autoruns (free from here: Autoruns for Windows )
- rename AODDriver2.sys to AODDriver2.BAD (it's probably in C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Fuel\amd64 )

- reboot and see if that fixes the problem(s). Check in C:\Windows\System32\drivers (or the other folder) to be sure that it stays renamed.
- install fresh video drivers using the procedure here: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure
DO NOT install the full Catalyst Control Center package!!!

If the system is unable to boot,
boot from the System Repair Disc to the Command Prompt option.
- Rename AODDriver2.BAD to AODDriver2.sys
Code:
ren c:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Fuel\amd64\aoddriver2.BAD c:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Fuel\amd64\aoddriver2.sys
- Then reboot from the System Repair Disc again - this time into the System Restore option.
Reset the system to the System Restore point that you set previously.

Stuck in Automatic Repair Boot Loop

I was currently in the process of fixing my BSOD issue (The thread is located here: http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cra...page_fault_in_nonpaged_area-ntoskrnl-exe.html) when my system got stuck in an Automatic Repair Boot Loop. This occured after I rebooted from Safe Mode, as my system would BSOD right after logon in regular boot. So far I have tried the following procedures with no avail:

Code:
* Boot from your [URL="http://www.surfacetablethelp.com/2013/01/how-to-boot-surface-prort-into-recovery-mode.html"]created recovery USB flash drive[/URL] or system repair disc. Select your keyboard layout language.
* In the Startup Options Menu, click/tap on Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Command Prompt
* Type in the following commands one by one:
bootrec /fixMBR
bootrec /Fixboot
bootrec /rebuildBCD
chkdsk /r c:
chkdsk /r d:
And then let repair go thowe again and that should fix the issues.

I should note that when I ran "bootrec /rebuildBCD" it says that there are no windows installations.

Code:
[B]Method 1: Restart the computer by force shut down.[/B]
Once the computer restarts check if you are getting the same error message. If the error message exists, perform Method 2.

 [B]Method 2: Perform Startup repair[/B]
I would suggest you to perform a startup repair using Windows 8 bootable DVD or USB drive and check if that helps.
a) Insert the installation DVD or USB and boot Windows 8 from it.
b) In the ‘Windows setup’ page select the ‘language to install’, ‘Time and currency format’ and the ‘keyboard or input method’ and click on ‘next’.
c) Click on ‘Repair your computer’ and select ‘Troubleshoot’.
d) Click on ‘Advanced options’ and select ‘Automatic Repair’ and select the operating system.

Any assistance would be greatly appricated, then I can get back to fixing my BSOD issue. For the time being I installed Linux Mint on a separate hard drive.

Thank you,
arbartz

Sorry for not replying sooner, I wasn't notified of your replies.

If the system can't find a Windows installation, the first step would be to test the hard drive. Use the free diagnostics described here: Hard Drive Diagnostic Procedure
