    Frequent yet, seemingly random BSODs

    Hi,

At the recommendation of one of the moderators on the Seven Forums, I am re-posting my problem here following a an upgrade to Windows 8 Pro. (original posts here: BSOD Memory Management Error - On Boot and in-game (GW2) - Windows 7 Support Forums)

Basically, I am getting frequent BSODs in a fairly new system. I've ran Memtest for 8 hours straight (no issues), tried driver-verifier, stopped the overclocks I was running, removed bloatware at the advice of Arc and possibly have tried a few more things which I can't recall right now.

Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this! Thanks in advance.

    Neil

Run System File Checker to verify/repair the integrity of system files.
Full tutorial here: SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker - Windows 7 Support Forums

Also, run chkdsk /f to repair corrupt sectors in the hard drive.
Full tutorial here: CHKDSK - Check a Drive for Errors in Windows 8

If the above fails, I'd suggest you to Refresh Windows 8 .

    Thanks for the input.

I've tried tips 1 and 2, but I fail to see the benefit of refreshing Windows; I had the problems under Windows 7 and I am now running a clean installation of Windows 8.

    I've tried a refresh - that didn't help either.

    Hi all.

A long overdue update; I wanted to share the fact that I've tried an old working SATA 2 drive as a comparison. BSODs are still occurring, such as service exception and page fault errors.

    What should I try next?

I recently replaced my motherboard and PSU due to a power surge. Since then, I've been getting a lot of different BSODs. Most of them seem to be driver errors and occur while gaming. I've ran memtest86 and came up with no problems. I'd appreciate any help I can get, pretty clueless here.
