Note: Please disregard what it says under "My System Specs" for this post. This post is about a different computer.
I bought a Toshiba Satellite C855D-S5359 laptop a couple of weeks ago. It came with Windows 8 (64-bit) pre-installed. Every now and then, the laptop gets a Blue Screen of Death with a "system_service_exception" error message. The BSOD doesn't appear during just one specific event. It has appeared at different times while doing different things (surfing the web, running Windows Explorer, etc.).
I've run Blue Screen View on the minidump file that was produced by this error and it points to the ntoskrnl.exe driver as the cause of the crash. I've attached the output from Blue Screen View as a .jpg file, titled "BlueScreenViewOutput". The original minidump file, which is in the "SF_22-02-2013.zip" zip folder, is also attached in case anyone wants to run it through their own debugger.
Other than Windows updates, there isn't any software installed on the computer other than what was pre-installed by Toshiba. I have, however, removed all of the Norton and WildTangent software that came with the laptop. I've also updated the video driver to its most current version through the video card manufacturer's (AMD) website. Also, the BIOS is up-to-date.
I've also run a memory test and "sfc /scannow", but neither came up with any errors. Running an error check on the drive didn't produce any problems, either.
I've already attempted to restore the laptop back to its factory state, but I ended up getting the same blue screen after a couple of days.
I'm out of ideas. If anyone has any suggestions, or if you need more information, let me know.
Thank you in advance.
