Hi,

I got the acer aspire laptop last Dec, it comes with Win7. Then I updated to Win8, and did not keep Win7 system/files. So maybe some drivers are not right/updated? After install the Win8, the system keeps frozen, once or twice a day. The zip file is attached, Please help. Thanks a lot!!!!!!

Hi and welcome to the forum. I have noticed a number of drivers you should update to windows 8 64bit versions or un-install/remove them if un-needed:

tapoas.sys - OpenVPN Virtual Network Driver: Driver Reference Table
k57nd60a.sys - Broadcom NetLink Gigabit Ethernet NDIS6.x Unified Driver: Driver Reference Table
RTKVHD64.sys - Realtek High Definition Audio Function Driver: Driver Reference Table

My advice is un-install OpenVPN for testing purposes. Update your Realtek Audio and Broadcom Ethernet devices from your manufacturers website, you can also update any driver you feel needs updating using this site as well (select win8 64bit as OS):

Acer Support: Downloads & Support Documents - Notebook, Ultrabook / Aspire / Aspire 5755G

I have also noticed you have an old BIOS version v1.15 and the latest is v1.21 you should consider updating this as a last resort if you're still getting freezes/BSODs. If you do decide to do this please follow all manufacturers instructions as any error might result in your PC becoming in-operable.

-cheers
