Random Windows 8 BSODs Started Today

Today my copy of Windows 8 x64 Pro on my Acer Aspire One 722 PC just started having a bunch of random BSOD (SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION), sometimes 15 minutes after startup, sometime after a couple of hours hour. I've been using Windows 8 since launch (I upgraded my PC to from W7 to W8) without any major issues, so this is kind of odd. The only changes that were made recently were the bunch of recent Windows Updates installed (which may be the reason but I'm not entirely sure.) Anyways, I've attached all my stuff and you guys always know best, so please help me out!!!! :D:D:D

C: drive only has about 7% free space. Windows likes 15% free space in order to perform stuff "behind the scenes" without adversely affecting the system's performance. Please free up 15% on all hard drives (you can get away with 10% on larger drives and won't notice a large performance penalty)

This device is disabled. Is this deliberate? If so, why?
Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client Virtual Miniport Adapter for Windows x64 ROOT\NET\0001 This device is disabled.
Please either remove it from your system or enable it/update it/disable it again.

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions). I strongly suspect that this hold true for Win8 systems also.
Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): [DEL] DuplexSecure - FAQ [/DEL] Link broken as of 21 Jul 2012
New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).

Manual procedure here: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help

LogMeIn and Team Viewer both date from 2007/8 - please uninstall them immediately.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

I did most of what you asked. I cleared up some more space and uninstalled Daemon Tools, LogMeIn, and Teamviewer. I couldn't find an update to the LGBusEnum.sys driver though. My computer BSOD yet again after doing all of this, and I have re-attached a new zip file.

Don't worry about the Logitech stuff for now - we may pay attention to it if the other stuff doesn't fix your errors.

It appears that the sptd.sys driver from Daemon Tools is still installed (and likely to be causing problems). Please follow the instructions to remove the sptd.sys file:
Use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).
Alternate link: Disc-Tools.com
Manual procedure here: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help

The old LogMeIn remote access stuff is still installed also, please uninstall it.

What about the question that I asked about the Cisco device?
If you don't want to remove it from your system, please enable it and update it. You can then disable it again if so desired.

Okay, I complete removed SPTD, Cisco, and LogMeIn (I think I removed all of it, not too sure, I was using it because I had some Microsoft Support tech remote control my PC to try and troubleshoot as well, but it didn't help.) Even after all of this, I continue to experience BSODs and I have attached another zip file.

I noticed that alot of people are starting to have the same issue recently on this brand of PCs (Acer Aspire One 722.) I'm not too experienced in the area, but maybe one you experts could compare the logs between all the various reports to better zero in on the issue.

Sometimes it takes several tries to find the culprit. We'll keep working at it until we don't see any progress.
I've been working on performing comparisons between systems - but it's not working out all that well. Too many variables for one person to figure out. I'm not giving up on it just yet, but it's not at the top of my list of priorities.

One of the latest dumps blames your antivirus. Please:
- download a fresh copy of the antivirus
- uninstall the current version of the antivirus from your system
- install the freshly downloaded copy
- IMMEDIATELY update the definitions
- perform a full scan of the system
- monitor for further BSOD's

Remote assistance drivers are still present (LogMeIn). Please try removing them again - both from Control Panel and Device Manager.
If not able, please post back for more detailed removal instructions.

The older Logitech drivers are repeatedly showing up also. Please uninstall all Logitech software and see if that stops the BSOD's. If you wish to reinstall it, please do so after the system has been stabilized.

Yeah, not sure how to remove the remaing LogMeIn drivers. Also, I don't want to remove the Logitech drivers because I'm afraid I'll lose mouse and keyboard functionality.

Let's leave the Logitech stuff alone for now. Your mouse/keyboard will still work if you uninstall the software/drivers - but any special features enabled by the Logitech software won't be available.

Try this to remove the LogMeIn drivers (LMIRfsDriver.sys and lmimirr.sys):
1) Create a Restore Point using System Restore
2) Create a Repair disc:
Win7 - Go to Start...All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc
Win8 - Press "WIN" and "R" to open the Run dialog...type "RECDISC" (without the quotes) and press ENTER
3) Test the System Repair disc to make sure that you can get to the System Restore entry when you boot from the disk (you may also want to try actually using System Restore to make sure that it works)
4) Download this free program (Autoruns for Windows) and use it to disable any instances of LMIRfsDriver.sys and lmimirr.sys that are starting (or any other LogMeIn entries) (DO NOT DELETE - only disabled by removing the checkmark in the left hand column)
5) Check in Device Manager (to include showing hidden devices from the View menu item) and ensure that any instances of LMIRfsDriver.sys and lmimirr.sys (or any other LogMeIn entries) are "Uninstalled" (DO NOT DISABLE THESE).
6) Check in the Services applet (services.msc) to be sure any instances of LMIRfsDriver.sys and lmimirr.sys or any other LogMeIn entries are disabled.
7) Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and rename the LMIRfsDriver.sys and lmimirr.sys driver to LMIRfsDriver.BAD and lmimirr.BAD

In the event that the system doesn't boot:1) Boot from the System Repair disc and use the Command Prompt option to rename LMIRfsDriver.BAD and lmimirr.BAD
to LMIRfsDriver.sys and lmimirr.sys
2) Boot from the System Repair disc and use the System Restore option to restore the system to a point before the changes were made.
Good luck!

If the BSOD's continue after this, please run Driver Verifier using the following instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

I have the exact BSOD on my Acer 722 (Windows 8 Pro). It started on february 15th. I think that one of last updates caused this problem, so I reinstalled system and I'm working now without any update installed. :(

Did all that, but I still continue to get the same BSOD.

and yeah, I agree with the guy above. The BSODs started after a new batch of Windows Updates that Installed.

i also noticed that they occur most often while I'm browsing the net with Chrome.

Please zip up and upload the contents of the C:\Windows\Minidump folder with your next post.

Please be advised that working without Windows Updates opens you up to vulnerabilities and problems. Windows Updates are more thoroughly tested than any other update that I know of. And I find that most problems with updates are actually caused by problems with 3rd party drivers/software that isn't completely compatible with newer Windows Updates.

Okay, after I downloaded KB2818604 (A microcode update is available for Windows 8-based computers that use AMD processors) which showed up in Windows Update, the BSODs stopped happening. If they happen again, then I'll update the thread, but for now, it looks like this issue if fixed.
