Over the past several weeks, I have been experiencing an endless series of blue screen error messages, both in Windows 7 and now in Windows 8. It was suggested to me that it may be an issue with the hard drive, but I have run diagnostics on the driver manufacturer and the computer manufacturer's websites, but neither found any problems. I strongly believe that it may be a defective wireless Internet adapter, as the computer seems to shut down a lot when I am downloading large files. What will happen is that the computer will get a blue screen error and then shut down; however, in the process of re-starting, it will display additional blue screens and keep re-starting. Then it seems like the adapter has some trouble establishing a connection to the router once I do get the computer back up. I could be on the wrong track, but these are my observations as a non tech person.

Some of the blue screen codes I've received at various times include:

  • SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
  • SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
  • MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
  • DRIVER_IRQL...???

I am hoping that someone here can analyze the attached error files and point me towards a solution. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Your mini-dumps are hinting towards your router driver: bcmwlhigh664.sys which is the Broadcom 802.11 USB Network Adapter Driver: Driver Reference Table

I have also found some drivers which are out-of-date on your system and you should update them to Windows 8 64bit versions or remove/un-install them if un-needed:

Rt630x64.sys - Realtek PCI/PCIe Adapters: Driver Reference Table
VSTDPV6.SYS, VSTCNXT6.SYS - Conexant SoftK56 Modem Driver: http://www.carrona.org/drivers/search.php?id=VSTDPV6.SYS
VSTBS26.SYS - Conexant HSF_HWB2 WDM driver: Driver Reference Table

Please remove/un-install the drivers related to your Conexant Modem as they are un-needed.

You can get windows 8 drivers for the Realtek Lan driver from here: Realtek (scroll down to win8 auto installation)

It appears you can get Windows 8 64bit version drivers for the Broadcom 802.11 network adapter here: Broadcom 802.11 Network Adapter Driver for Windows 8 (32-bit and 64-bit) - ThinkCentre M62z, Edge 72z

Your BIOS version is A02 and the latest one is A03, as a last resort it might be worth updating it using your manufacturers website. If you decide to do this please follow all manufacturers precautions as any error might result in an inoperable system:
