Hi there, I´m using a Windows 8 Pro version which was upgraded from Windows 7 and not my windows won´t start up. It starts with the logo, then I get the sour smiley. Windows automatic recovery can´t help.

If I choose System Restore, it asks me to specify which installation to use and I am unable to do that, since I can´t select anything, I tried booting and pressing SHIFT+F8 with no aval :(

So I decided to try System refresh, then it says "Windows partition is locked, please unlock before attempting system refresh"

this is getting kind og annoying.

The setup is RAID 0 with 2 disks, and as stated, the windows is starting up when it crashed.

thx.

the problem was that I was using 2 2TB hard drives. and RAID 0 max size is only 2.2TB, thus I had to create 2 parititions, SCSI 1 and SCSI 2 and while in command prompt I executed the command: bootrep bootrec.exe /fixmbr and I suspect I did that when SCSI 2 was the active partition, but when I fixed that in BIOS and started Windows 7 repair console and the same fixmbr command again, it booted normally :)

You can have a raid size (or any volume, RAID or not, really) larger than 2.2TB if you have a UEFI-based BIOS in your system.
