Windows 8 Bsod's evry hour :( Seriously, every hour!! Help

    Hello everyone,
I have been suffering with win 8 ever since i upgraded from win 7. I get bsods every hour almost.

Crashes about 1 hour into use, every time i boot up. Error on bsod critical_process_died. After this, the computer automatically reboots and goes into a blue screen again without ever booting up fully, with error code saying a device couldnt be found. does not specify which device. error code 0xc000000e.

i manually turn off and restart at this point, and system boots in fine. This happens EVERY single time.

    System config:
Windows is installed on its own C drive which is a 64gig ssd drive. 500gig hdd also on board. Regular setup, no raid or anything fancy.

Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 8 Pro, 64 bit
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2700K CPU @ 3.50GHz, Intel64 Family 6 Model 42 Stepping 7
    Processor Count: 8
    RAM: 16301 Mb
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580, 1535 Mb
    Hard Drives: C: Total - 61054 MB, Free - 12639 MB; D: Total - 715301 MB, Free - 539971 MB;
Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd., Z68X-UD3H-B3
    Antivirus: Windows Defender

Windows updates applied. All possible drivers including mb chipset drivers are up to date as far as i can tell with win 8 versions.

    Help please!!

    - Update the SSD's firmware to the latest available version (VERY IMPORTANT!!!)
    - Update the motherboard controllers drivers to the latest available version from the controller manufacturer (NOT the mobo manufacturer unless you can't find any on the controller manufacturer's website)
    - Slow the memory (RAM) down to the next slower speed (I've only seen one person who claimed that this worked for them).

There have been many errors with SSDs and BSODS recently. Do these commands in command prompt as administrator:

    sfc /scannow

PS: These are only tips, I cannot diagnose BSODs but I am quite use to the errors thanks to people posting solutions here.

    Fixed it!!!!!

I was perplexed by the fact that this was happening every hour almost like clockwork. Did some digging around and found this - Customer Reviews: Crucial m4 256GB 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive SATA 6Gb/s with Data Transfer Kit CT256M4SSD2CCA

Look at second reviewer. Apparently there is a weird bug causes it to hang every 60 minutes once it goes past 5000 total hours of usage. downloaded firmware updater but it would not work properly. Then found out ssd had to be in ahci mode for it to be recognized properly by the updater. Had to tweak win 8 registry and then change bios setting to ahci and presto! firmware updated succesfully.

Went from BSOD every hour to 24 hr uptime no problems! - Thank you for looking into the data though Hope this helps someone.
