I came across this thread that had a similar error on debugging. I get the BSOD after each wakeup. Here is my dump:

However when I search xfastusb or xfastlan (from the linked thread) I don't see any related files or programs so I'm pretty confident I don't have either installed. I'm on windows 8 with an Asus s56cm i7.

It does have an SSD to boot from, but I'm not sure if I have the Intel Rapid Storage on this computer.. its very new to me and searching for that as a file or program again returns nothing. What can I do to find the cause of the BSOD?

Some Intel RST drivers are known to cause issues.

Unfortunately I had to restore back to a couple days ago as the laptop bsod'd in the middle of the night while asleep, I have class this morning and can't risk it turning on in my bag and overheating.

However I read over the restore and it didn't mention any driver related to this, but I'm not 100% sure if this is the same driver version as before. You would know better than I haha.

Regardless, this is what it's at now: 11.5.0.1207

I have filled in the specs for you.

I was on 11.6.x.xxx for my RST driver, I just updated today in attempt to fix it and now I'm at 11.7.0.1013
I'll drop back down to the version in your link right now and report back when it restarts itself. Thank you!

That update back down to 11.2.0.1006 actually put my laptop into a reboot loop. I have it restoring to a previous configuration to recover from the loop as we speak. This computer is frustrating.

I appreciate your help so far, I'm assuming it'll take some time to restore now so I'm going to see how it is in the morning (3am here now)

So it had failed to automatically repair overnight, I'm doing a system restore from a few days back now. The list of changes didn't mention the driver so I'm not sure how this will turn out..

That restore took a few hours which is strange.. but it did get me back to booting windows instead of looping. I am back to 11.5.0.1207.

And still, it takes about 8 minutes to boot and will BSOD after waking from sleep. Any other ideas?

That's strange RST 11.2.0.1006 caused you problems, it's listed all over the web as being stable for everyone.
Might be another issue with your laptop or a corrupt download.

There are a lot of people having problems, not everyone, with RST drivers above v11.2... I would recommend to delete your old copy of 11.2... and download another copy.
Make a System Restore point.
Restore Point - Create in Windows 8
Install RST 11.2.0.1006 again.
Understand if you don't want to, it's your choice.
I don't recommend running anything above RST 11.2...
Use the old Microsoft driver if you don't want to change the RST driver, msachi.

Another thing to try: change the hard disk sleep time to a high number so it won't ever sleep.
Control Panel > Power Options > Change When the Computer Sleeps > Change Advanced Power Settings >
Expand 'Hard disk', then 'Turn off hard disk after', change time to sleep.

If the above doesn't work, sleep crashes possibly can be stopped by disabling Hybrid Sleep.
Control Panel > Power Options > Change When the Computer Sleeps > Change Advanced Power Settings >
Expand 'Sleep', then 'Allow hybrid sleep', click on 'Setting' and change to 'Off'.
Some systems are known to crash when this is turned on.

I'm thinking its the laptop, possibly a hardware issue. I don't recall if I mentioned, this happened immediately after I turned it on the first time the battery went low enough to shut down the laptop. I used it all day in a lab (4% left) and when I got home it was out of power.

I also checked the settings you just mentioned, my turn-off-disk portion is already at 20 minutes, and my hybrid sleep was also already disabled.

I would give your other idea a shot, the only issue is the last restore took hours and I can't risk that again as I have class in 8 hours. I can work with the laptop as it is and sacrifice the few minutes it takes to boot as a functional computer haha. That's better than nothing for now.

I called Asus and they said I could schedule a pickup for repair, but I wanted to see if you had any more ideas first. Let me know! And thanks again for the ideas so far.

You're welcome.

We could trouble shoot for weeks, best to get Asus to fix it. I've seen this issue fixed with a new motherboard.
Ask them about the RST driver, some OEM and motherboard sites have a 'Fix' for the RST driver. Gigabytes 'Fix' didn't work for me, I'm using RST 11.2.0.1006.

Let us know what they say/do to fix it.

Finally after almost a few weeks I got the thing back. I have a repair sheet with part numbers that I couldn't find on google, but regardless it says that they replaced the actual SSD and also the "MAIN_BD" which I'm assuming is the motherboard? Or possibly whatever controls the SSD.

I guess it wasn't something they could fix by software. Glad to finally boot again in less than 10 minutes though.

You're welcome.

Good news, though they do take their time, hopefully it will stay stable now.
The MAIN_BD is probably 'Main Board' actually the motherboard.

You can mark the thread 'Solved'.

Let us know if you have any questions.
