System doesn't power off completely, random crashes

Often, when turning off the pc, it doesnt power off completely (windows turns off, but the pc stays on, to poer off I need to press the power button for a few secons) and at the next startup, it displays a driver power state failure dump.
Also, I seem to get some random system service exception bsod's (last one when playing a game-DOTA2).

    Here's my computer's specs:

    OS: Windows 8 Pro (x64)
Processor: AMD FX-8150 clocked at 3.60 GHz
    Motherboard: ASRock 970 Extreme4
    Memory: 4x G.Skill 4 GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti
    Hard Drives: M4-CT128M4SSD2 (OS, 128GB), ST31000524AS(data, 1TB)
    CD-ROM: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH41N
    Network: D-Link DWA-140 RangeBooster N USB Adapter(rev.B2)
    PSU: Nox Hummer 650W

    Win8.1Pro - Finally!!!

Sorry for the delay in responding. There just aren't that many people who do BSOD analysis, so at times we get a bit overwhelmed!

If you're overclocking, please stop the overclock while we're troubleshooting. Feel free to resume the overclock once the system has been stabilized.

I do not recommend using wireless USB network devices. Especially in Win7/Win8 systems.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7(and I suspect with Win8) - using Vista drivers with them is almost sure to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have Win7/Win8 drivers - DO NOT use Vista drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.
We've seen a number of BSOD issues with SSD's. Here's the information that I've compiled so far:
There's not a whole bunch available to test SSD's. The "easiest" test is to remove the SSD, install a platter-based hard drive, install Windows and test for stability that way.

    Here's some suggestions:
    - Update the SSD's firmware to the latest available version (VERY IMPORTANT!!!)
    - Update the motherboard controllers drivers to the latest available version from the controller manufacturer (NOT the mobo manufacturer unless you can't find any on the controller manufacturer's website)
    - Slow the memory (RAM) down to the next slower speed (I've only seen one person who claimed that this worked for them).
    - Use any manufacturer's utilities that you may have. If you don't have any, then try this free one (I haven't used it myself): Crystal Dew World
    - Update chipset and storage controller drivers to the latest available from the manufacturer of the device (not the manufacturer of the motherboard). Be sure to update ALL controllers on the motherboard!
....NOTE: Recently (Nov 2011) we had BSOD issues with the Marvell 91xx controller and an SSD. You may have to switch controllers also.
    - Replace the SSD with a platter based hard drive and see if that stops the BSOD's. If it does, then it's likely that there's a problem with the SSD OR an incompatibility with your system.
It's my opinion that SSD's aren't reliable enough (with current hardware) to be used on a system that needs to work reliably. Until I see reliability I will not recommend, nor will I use, SSD's for critical applications.
06 Dec 2011 - This post tends to confirm issues with certain SSD chipsets and certain controllers - [SOLVED] cant find the cause of BSOD F4 - Tech Support Forum
29 May 2012 - The frequency of BSOD's with SSD's seems to have been decreasing over the last several months. It may be approaching time to re-evaluate my stand on their suitability for use in production systems.
10 Nov 2012 - I'm seeing an upswing in SSD errors - but most appear due to older storage controller drivers. I strongly suggest NOT using storage controller drivers that don't date from 2012 (if none are available, don't connect an SSD to that controller)
05 Jan 2013 - very interesting post about difficulties with the Marvell controllers even when not connected to the SSD drives: https://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cra...tml#post169956
    This device is disabled:
Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_81681849&REV_06\4&18F48688&0&00AB Este dispositivo estแ deshabilitado.
Is this deliberate? If so, why?

Difficulties between/with Logitech camera and USB audio (?Maybe Logitech QuickCam microphone?) Update software/drivers to the latest, Win8 compatible version from Logitech. If Win8 drivers aren't available, uninstall and remove the device from your system in order to test if it's a problem.

Also blamed is netr28ux.sys - a driver for your wireless USB network device. Please see my comments above about these devices.

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions). I strongly suspect that this hold true for Win8 systems also.
Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): [S] DuplexSecure - FAQ [/S] Link broken as of 21 Jul 2012
New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).

Manual procedure here: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help
Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

First, I'd like to thank you for your time. It's always nice to have someone willing to help.

    Getting <<into bussiness>>:

    This device is disabled:
Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_81681849&REV_06\4&18F48688&0&00AB Este dispositivo estแ deshabilitado.

Is this deliberate? If so, why?
This is not deliberate, in fact, I can't seem to find it in order to enable it again.

I have updated all drivers listed (thank you for the report! I was suspecting that some drivers were outdated, but couldn't find a decent (and free) way to do so).

I'm running the latest SSD's firmware and my motherboard drivers were updated.

Regarding the usb wifi reciever, I'll look for a decent pci-e card to replace it (thanks for the advice).

OK then, let's just wait and see if this has fixed the BSOD issues (and the power down issues also)
    Good luck!

Check in Device Manager to see if there's a disabled Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller there.
If not, then don't worry about it unless you can't connect to the internet with a wire (if needed).

FYI - my system died this morning, so I have difficulty running multiple memory dumps.
    I would suggest 2 things:
    - running Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings
    - running these free diagnostics as time permits: Hardware Diagnostics

I just got the system to crash with driver verifier, here's the dump.

I just got a different crash (while playing as well) this time a page fault in nonpaged area, here's the grab all zip.
(I disabled driver verifier and restarted the system before the crash, so it shouldnt be related to that).

Driver Verifier dump wasn't caused by Driver Verifier. That means, most likely, that it's a hardware or a Windows problem.
Try running SFC.EXE /SCANNOW from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt

Beyond that, it's either going through the hardware testing: Hardware Diagnostics (and more)
or backing up your system, wiping the hard drive, and reinstalling Windows: Canned Speeches

Crashes that seem to be hardware can also be due to low-level driver problems - so on the off chance that Driver Verifier didn't identify a driver (in error), I'd suggest doing the following updates also:

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Yesterday, My computer's performance took a nose dive. I ran multiple AV programs which found some PUPs and what looked to be a trojan. I wasn't freaked out because I removed it, but my computer only slightly sped up. I can't use my computer like I normally have and can't game. This is driving me...
Unplugging power crashes system in BSOD Crashes and Debugging
Unplugging the power causes the system to crash. This is especially bad with a slippery power plug. I'd be immensely thankful for tips on getting the latest drivers. I haven't figured out why Intel's utility for detecting my system (Intelฎ Driver Update Utility) won't work for me. HP's...
Hi, sometimes, when I shut down my laptop, it never finishes. The screen turns off after showing "shutting down", but my back-lit keyboard and the leds never turn off. It happens like 10% of the times. What can it be? :sarc:
Please do not ask me for dump files or anything related to BSODs: My crashes are not related to BSODs. I HAVE NOT GOTTEN ANY BSODs AND THUS DO NOT HAVE ANY DUMP FILES. For about the past month and a half, I've been getting random crashes in Windows 7. My computer suddenly turns off and...
So basically my system is crashing at seemingly random points (games, desktop, programs...anytime) even though the system appears to be ok. I've updated all drivers, ran memtest, even ran prime95 (was oc'ing recently but the crashes were happening before that) and everything checks out. My...
Hello to all, A month back I accidentally deleted the wow6432 node from my registry under system_user. I believe this is the root of all my problems. Once I did that, my toshiba c885 D 64 bit would not boot. I forced the computer to shut down and pressed f12 to get to the system recovery...
Seemlingly Random Crashes: Kernel-Power 41 in BSOD Crashes and Debugging
Ever since I installed Windows 8 the first time I've been getting Random, dumpless crashes coded as nothing more than Kernel-Power 41 "unexpected reboots." It doesn't really seem to matter what I'm doing at the time...the crashes just...happen. Gaming, text editing, using the internet (both text...
