System Freezing & Occasional BSOD Crashes

Since upgrading from XP to Windows 8 Pro I am experiencing numerous freezing and occassional BSOD crashes. The freezing will happen at any time - browsing, watching a video using VLC, copying files etc. I have a report from Blue Screen View for the last 2 BSOD but most of the freezing issues did not result in a BSOD so I just re-booted to continue with my work (sometimes it required 2-3 boots to get the system up and running again as it froze again on login page. The Crash list below points to a Driver problem but does not say which driver. I have been through Device Manager and checked that drivers are up to date.

I have also uploaded the SF diagnostic report.
Any help or advice would be appreciated as my system is rapidly becoming un-useable so i am thinking of re-installing XP again.
Thanks

The MSINFO32 report and the systeminfo report are missing from the uploaded reports.
Please run the tool again and let it run for at least 15 minutes before zipping up the contents.
Then upload it again so we can perform a full diagnosis.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Wow, Thank you for such a quick and detailed response. I have now uninstalled the Alps and VPN software but cannot find any updates (that windows will accept) for the other Drivers listed and there does not seem to be any software programmes attached to these drivers that I can uninstall.
I thought that the removal of the 2 programmes had cured the problem as i used the computer extensively last night with no crashes but just before writing this reply the system froze again (not a BSOD crash, just a freeze so that I had to reboot using the power button)
As requested I attach another report which should be a full one.
Thanks again for your help.
PS system just froze again, when it happens the cooling fan powers up for no apparant reason and the CPU meter does not show a high percentage of use.

PPS. I have just noticed that on the last 2 occasions that the screen has frozen there is a flag showing in the action centre with the notification that Maintenance in progress. Could this have anything to do with the freezing?
Thanks

Your BIOS dates from 2008. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

Are you able to find Win7 drivers for your touchpad? If not, I'd suggest contacting Dell to see what they can offer. The Touchpad is now listed as a problem device on your system. There is (IMO) a possibility that this system is not compatible with Win8.

Click on the Action Center to find out what's listed under the Maintenance section.
Also try to see what's running in Task Manager whn the Maintenance is in progress.

Thanks Usasma for such a quick response. I have just upgraded the BIOS to the latest version and will see if that cures the problem.
I will not be able to achieve a long test as I will be leaving tomorrow for US and I'm not taking my Dell with me. So please do not mark this thread as solved yet until get back at end of February.
Again many thanks for your help so far.
