Solved BSOD with BAD_POOL_HEADER

We are getting BSOD with BAD_POOL_HEADER error. It says, "The pool is already corrupt at the time of the current request. This may or may not be due to the caller.".
Is there a kernel based utility which can force the error to occur exactly when the pool is corrupted?
We have our own driver which have been working fine on Windows 7 and XP.
Let me also know if I need to contact on some other forum.

If this is your own driver, it may be due to problems with it's construction.
Please post the info that milw0rm requested.

If, as I suspect, it's a problem with the driver's construction - we have a couple of helpful developers that we can ask for assistance if needs be.

Your minidumps appear to be pointing to the driver: tcpip.sys which is the Microsoft TCP/IP Driver (networking related): Driver Reference Table

This is unlikely to be the issue though but does suggest a problem with your network setup.

I have noticed some out of date drivers on your system you should either update to Windows 8 32/64bit versions or un-install/remove if un-needed:

MpKsl4004830d.sys - I could not find information on this driver anywhere, I can only assume it's your in-house driver. Sadly this could be the problem driver and other than finding an alternative Windows 8 compatible one I don't know what else to suggest.
ctxva51.sys - Citrix Secure Access Driver (2010): ctxva51.sys - What is ctxva51.sys ?

You should also visit your PC manufacturers website and update anything you can to the latest driver versions. There doesn't appear to be any Windows 8 32/64bit versions drivers for your laptop so select the Windows 7 32/64bit versions instead.

You can also try clicking on the "analyze system for updates" button to see if you can get more accurate information on any driver that needs updating.

You appear to have a very old BIOS version: A15 and the latest version A32 it might be worth updating this as a last resort. If you do decide to update please follow all manufacturers precautions as any error might result in your system becoming inoperable.

Please make sure you have all the latest Windows 8 updates until you can install no more.

Because you have an in-house driver you might want to hold off updating until usasma has gotten back to you since this is beyond my expertise.

MpKsl4004830d.sys - this driver is most likely a dynamically assigned driver used by Windows Defender.
I tend to see it a lot when there are problems with malware or with a corruption of Windows Defender - although it can just be a coincidence also. These drivers all start with MpKsl and then have 8 alpha-numeric characters, and then end in .sys

When I first encountered these drivers I tried to list them in the DRT ( Driver Reference Table (DRT) ) but found that they just kept multiplying. You can see a large assortment of them in the DRT - which is what led me to the conclusions that I reached about it.

What is the name of your driver? Is it cag.sys? That's the only unfamiliar driver that stands out in the MSINFO32 report (and it's not located in the standard location for drivers - C:\Windows\System32\drivers ):

cag Citrix cag plugin for Access Gateway \??\c:\program files\common files\deterministic networks\common files\cag.sys Kernel Driver No Auto Stopped OK Normal No No

Please note that I suspect the Citrix software - so if this is your driver, then it could be causing problems with the Citrix software.

I believe that the first step is to run Driver Verifier to see if it can pin a name on the offending driver. Please use these instructions when running Driver Verifier: Driver Verifier Settings

Your BIOS dates from 2009. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

27 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have at least 30 or 40. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

The first device is likely to be a Media Card Reader. Please download and install the drivers for this device.
The second is some sort of security device that may be associated with a fingerprint sensor. Please download and install the drivers for this device.
The third is your wired network controller. Please:
- download a fresh set of drivers
- uninstall the current drivers
- install the freshly downloaded set of drivers

Please check to be sure that the Citrix software is compatible with Win8. Then uninstall it to see if it helps (reinstall if needed - after testing). I suggest this because the BSOD errors involve the networking sub-system and the Process involved (this is not a diagnostic certainty) is dne2000.exe (a Citrix component)- and it appears to be involved in each and every memory dump.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Thanks a lot for the investigation. The network connection was the culprit. we fixed that and BSOD has disappeared. Thanks a lot.
