I am wanting to upgrade to windows 8 pro but will I still have the BSOD problem that I am have with windows 8? I have reset twice and even thought about doing an exchange at the store but it's not my laptop, it's the windows 8. Is there any solution to this problem or do we just have to live with it..

Sorry for the delay in responding. There just aren't that many people who do BSOD analysis, so at times we get a bit overwhelmed!

I'm glad that you may have solved your problem. Please post back with a fresh report if the BSOD's start up again.

Will do, haven't had any problems so far after the SDK installation and the update I got from asus. It's an O/S update that they put out I guess? anyway no resets all day......

This is the first BSOD since this last time I posted about not getting one. Can some tell me what they think the problems are?

Are you running Win8 off a USB device?

WER section of MSINFO32 blames your Avast. Please do this to test:
- uninstall the Avast
- enable Windows Defender and the Windows Firewall through the Action Center (flag thing) in the system tray of the desktop
- run a full system scan (after updating) to ensure that there isn't an infection that got by your Avast.

All of the memory dumps also point at the Avast, so let's try that before we dig any deeper into the OS. If the BSOD's recur after removing the Avast, then please run Driver Verifier according to these directions: Driver Verifier Settings

No need to update the following drivers yet - I just include them for reference in case the BSOD's do recur.
[DEL]Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :[/DEL]

:[/DEL]
