I just recently built a computer in December and from the start the PSU made some clicking noises, but I didnt see it as a problem since at first there were no problems with my computer. It would restart after the first 5-10 minutes of playing league of legends. 20-30 minutes are playing Team Fortress 2. And less than an hour of playing Starcraft 2.

I looked at my event log and it was a Critical Error: Kernel-Power. Event ID 41. Task Category 63.

This occurred once in a blue moon when I first built my computer and for the last couple weeks it's occurring each time I'm in the middle of a game. I've gone through many blogs and tried a few of the fixes. I tried the mulitple audio device fix with no results. I've ran prime 95 for 12 hours with no problems. Memtest with no problems. and a couple of other stress tests with no problems. My CPU Idle is at a constant 35degrees centigrade and during games it goes up to 50-62 at the most. Here are my computer specs.

Case: Thermaltake Overseer RX-I
PSU: Thermaltake TR2 RX 750W Bronze
Motherboard: MSI H77MA-G43
CPU: Intel i5 3570k 3.4ghz
RAM: 2x4gb Corsair Vengeance
GPU: EVGA GTX 560Ti
HDD: 1TB Seagate Barracuda
and two optical drives: 1DVD Burner and 1 CD/DVD Player

OS: Windows 8 Pro 64bit

If there is any other information I need to give please let me know. This situation is really stressful.. Especially while Im preparing for a big tournament.

Hi! I am running an older (but capable!) rig and stumbled across your experience via Google! About an hour ago I started experiencing the same crash while playing TF2. I don't really play other games but my event log is the same as yours. Bump for any answers!

I have tried verifying and defragging the TF2 files w/o much luck. Next I plan to uninstall/reinstall TF2. Then I hope to try some of the fixes on blogs you've mentioned... BTW I am running Win 7.

I am not sure though if the event listed is caused by me having to hard reboot the system.

clintoris - please start your own topic so that your issue can get the individual attention that it deserves. Feel free to follow along in this one, but please remember that although the problems may seem similar - there may be totally different causes.

DjDoomz - Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis: https://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cr...e-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html

Please use this free utility to monitor temps on the hard drive, motherboard, RAM (if so equipped), and GPU: HWiNFO, HWiNFO32 & HWiNFO64 - Hardware Information and Analysis Tools

Have you run the free video stress tests that I list here: Additional Hardware Diagnostics
