Blue Screen on Restart ( DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE)

EDIT 20/01/13: Okay so I have left it a while to see if I still ran into problems and unfortunately I am.

I THINK it must have something to do with my wifi driver or something as this is how it goes:
- Connected to internet
- Suddenly lose connection
-Computer tells e no networks are available, nothing i do changes this
-Restart computer
-Sticks on restart loading circle
-Blue screen

For the last two days when restarting my laptop (Aspire V3-571G) it hangs on the restarting spinning circle and then crashes to a blue screen saying to search online for DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE for more info.

On successful boot I am greeted with a message asking if I want to send the info to microsoft troubleshoot and that a .dmp file hasbeen created in my mindump folder.

I have honestly no idea what could be causing this.

Can anyone offer me any help? I would really appreciate it.

I have ran the tool provided and hopefully the .zip file will help shed some light on my problem.

Your mini-dumps seem to be pointing at the driver file: vwifibus.sys which is your Virtual WiFi bus driver:

Driver Reference Table

Please make sure you have all the Windows 8 Updates until you can install no more.

I have found a number of drivers you should update or un-install/remove if un-needed as these can also be the cause of your BSODs:

iaStor.sys - Intel Storage Drivers - Driver Reference Table
mwlPSDFilter.sys, mwlPSDVDisk.sys, mwlPSDNServ.sys - EgisTec Inc. Fingerprint Biometrics: Driver Reference Table
bScsiMSa.sys - Broadcom Memory Stick Driver: bscsimsa.sys - What is bscsimsa.sys ?
b57xdbd.sys - Broadcom xD Picture Card Bus Driver: b57xdbd.sys - What is b57xdbd.sys ?
b57xdmp.sys - Broadcom xD Picture Card Miniport Driver: b57xdmp.sys - What is b57xdmp.sys ?
ETD.sys - ELAN PS/2 Port Smart Pad: Driver Reference Table
UBHelper.sys - NTI CD &DVD-Maker or NTI Backup NOW! or NTI CD-Maker by NewTech Infosystems (usually in Acer Empowering Technology): Driver Reference Table
NTIDrvr.sys - NTI CD-ROM Filter Driver by NewTech Infosystems (likely a part of Acer Empowering Technology): Driver Reference Table
IntcDAud.sys - Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD Driver: Driver Reference Table
TurboB.sys - Intel Turbo Boost Driver: Driver Reference Table

You might also want to make sure your Acer is fully updated to the Windows 8 64 bit drivers. This includes chipset/motherboard and others: http://global-download.acer.com/FilesDownload/ALU/LiveUpdater.exe

I've noticed that your BIOS version is 1.05 and the latest appears to be 1.13 or 2.09 (for windows 7 upgrades). You might consider upgrading this as a last resort but please follow all manufacturers precautions before doing so as any errors may make your system inoperable.

Thanks for taking the time to go through my files.
I have only just got this laptop, but I updated from windows 7 to 8 so I suppose that explains the outdated drivers.

Is there a tool that will scan my drivers and update them as needed or is it a case of going through the list you have given me one by one? (Honestly I have no idea what is important and what isn't so I wouldn't like to uninstall anything.

Well if you use the reference table links that will give you more information about what program (if any) the driver belongs to, it's then really a judgement call on if you consider you need it or not. But for your benefit I will try and help you out:

TurboB.sys - Intel Turbo Boost Driver: Really just monitor software for certain intel processors. Not really needed to be honest unless you do want to monitor processor frequencies. There does appear to be an updated Windows 8 64bit version though at the Intel site, also take a look to see if you have the supported processors. If you do want to use it then un-install the version you have and install the updated version:

pdf: http://downloadmirror.intel.com/19105/eng/Turbo Boost Monitor 2 5 User Release v2 6.pdf

There are a few drivers related to your Intel Chipset you might want to upgrade them at your manufacturers website, scroll down to Chipset (9.3.0.1021) and click on the download button:

Acer Support: Downloads & Support Documents - Notebook, Ultrabook / Aspire / Aspire V3-571G

ETD.sys - ELAN PS/2 Port Smart Pad: This is most probable the smart-pad on your computer. Again this can be downloaded at your manufacturers website, scroll down to Touchpad and select the latest ELANTECH driver (11.6.11.002):

Acer Support: Downloads & Support Documents - Notebook, Ultrabook / Aspire / Aspire V3-571G

Your broadcom drivers can also be updated using the manufacturers website, scroll down to "card reader" (1.0.0.243
):

Acer Support: Downloads & Support Documents - Notebook, Ultrabook / Aspire / Aspire V3-571G

iaStor.sys - Intel Storage Drivers: ACHI (11.5.0.1207):

Acer Support: Downloads & Support Documents - Notebook, Ultrabook / Aspire / Aspire V3-571G

mwlPSDFilter.sys, mwlPSDVDisk.sys, mwlPSDNServ.sys - EgisTec Inc. Fingerprint Biometrics: Some kind of fingerprint security software, do you really need it?... probably not and no Windows 8 version that I can find on the site so probably worth un-installing:

Download - Free Trial and More - EgisTec Inc.

UBHelper.sys, NTIDrvr.sys - NTI CD &DVD-Maker or NTI Backup NOW! or NTI CD-Maker: CD/DVD burning/ulility software or NTI backup software. Doesn't appear to be any Windows 8 64bit versions of their software and so maybe consider un-installing them and using alternative software more compatible with Windows 8:

Download NTI Trial Software for Windows, Free Update Patch, DVD Burning and Backup Software - Official Site
NTI - Support - Acer - DVD Burning Software, Data Backup Software, CD Burning, Blu-ray Burning Software - Official Site
