Windows 8 keeps getting 0x00000109 blue screen

Hi, I have had a problem lately since installing windows 8 my machine gives me random blue screens, rarely I get watchdog blue screen and lately I have been getting 0x00000109 almost every day, even when the computer is sleeping. The wired thing is when I use the machine play a game etc the computer works fine then just randomly I get this error. I have attached my latest mini dumps in a zip file please help. I have even tried changing HDD, and memory to no avail. Computer worked 100% with windows 7 before this.

Please can somebody shed some light on what mite be causing this error.

I noticed some drivers you will need to update or uninstall/remove as it could be the cause of your BSODs:

SRTSPX64.SYS - Symantec Real Time Storage Protection (PEL) x64: Driver Reference Table - SRTSPX64.SYS
vmm.sys - Virtual Machine Monitor driver - Microsoft Virtual PC 2004: Driver Reference Table - vmm.sys
AsUpIO.sys - ASUS hardware monitoring software related: Driver Reference Table - AsUpIO.sys

Hi, Thanx for a quick reply.

Ok Norton Internet Security is updated to 2013 so that should be ok.
I don't have virtual machine installed lol so how the heck do I uninstall it.
I uninstalled asus update but the blasted thing is still there lol.

I got a blue screen while trying to uninstall this stuff now its different mini dump is attached.

    Regards

If you can't remove the drivers via un-install then perhaps you should try and remove them manually.

AsUpIO.sys should be part of the ASUS Utilities suite so make sure you don't have that installed. If you can find no trace of it in Control Panel take a look in your program files and maybe you can find the un-installer there for it. As a last resort look for the file in: c:\windows\system32\drivers rename the file to AsUpIO.bak and reboot your PC. Do the same thing for vmm.sys.

Your minidump file is also showing that you still have the 2011 version of the file SRTSPX64.SYS on your system which belongs to Symantec Real Time Storage Protection (PEL). You might consider un-installing all symantec/norton products using the control panel un-installer first and then this norton removal tool:

    |MG| Norton Removal Tool 20.0.0.21 Download

Try using the Windows 8 built-in Defender (making sure its fully updated) for testing purposes to see if you get anymore BSODs. If you don't either re-install the latest version of Symantec security products or keep using Windows Defender.

You could also make sure you have the latest drivers for your motherboard/chipset and anything else you can update via the manufacturers website. Your board appears to be a server board: ASUS KGP(M)E-D16 which does not appear to have Windows 8 64bit drivers yet so I'm unsure if your board is compatible with Windows 8 and/or drivers at this present time. Maybe someone with a bit more expertise can give you further information on this.

Make sure you have all the latest windows updates until you can install no more.

Thanx for the reply I have changed some bios settings, and also uninstalled a few progs. Ima bit worried that if I uninstall norton my subscription will not activate again but I may have to go down that root. as far as I know vmm.sys is part of the phone development kit. Which should work with windows 8. If I get another blue screen in the next 24hrs I will post the dump here . Thanx for your help.

ok update I have removed Norton and reinstalled from my account hopefully this will work.
