Hi everyone. This is my first post on the forum, so I really appreciate any help that anyone may be able to offer. I have been receiving a drive state power failure error since clean installing Windows 8 on my system. I suspect it may be a bad driver or something, but I am not sure. I already set my system to not hibernate or sleep and I tried updating my BIOS and removing a third-party Spyware protection program, but the error occurred again. I followed the instructions and have attached my memory dump information.

Thanks again for your help!

The minidumps seem to be pointing at the file: pci.sys which is the NT Plug and Play PCI Enumerator:

Driver Reference Table - pci.sys

This file could be corrupt so make sure you download the latest manufacturers chipset motherboard drivers for Windows 8 64bit:

ASUS - Motherboards- ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3

Also make sure you have all the Windows 8 updates until you can no longer be updated.

I have also found two drivers that you might consider updating or un-installing/removing if un-needed:

HECIx64.sys - Intel Management Engine Interface: Driver Reference Table - HECIx64.sys
P17.sys - Creative SB Audigy LS: Driver Reference Table - P17.sys

-cheers

Thank you for your assistance! I have tried to do everything you've said so far. I got the error message again this morning, even after updating the motherboard chipset drivers and updating Windows. I had attempted to remove the two drivers you mentioned, but they reappeared. Eventually I got the Creative SB Audigy LS driver to uninstall completely, but can't seem to remove the Intel driver. It continues to reappear even when I restart the computer immediately. I also realized that there was one additional Windows update (a virus definitions update) that I had to install, so I did. I won't be able to tell if the additional steps I took worked yet because the error doesn't usually occur unless the computer's been off for a few hours.

I ran the Diagnostic tool again after doing everything and have attached the folder just in case.

Thanks again!

Just wanted to update and confirm that the error came up again after I took all the aforementioned steps. Frustrating!
