Solved DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL random BSOD

Hi, I recently installed Windows 8 and I had to do a clean install three times within 4 days. Something always messed up, so I need a permanent solution. I installed only drivers for my graphics card, audio and touchpad.
The crash says DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and I forgot what was in the brackets after that.
Help?

I am not an expert in Crash Dump Analysis so you are free to take this information or leave it, I have only been doing this for a few weeks and providing this information as-is and accept no responsibility for any damage that maybe caused.

Your mini-dump files are pointing to the file: aswnet.sys which is related to your Avast anti-virus program. This is a known BSOD creator which indicates that Avast is not fully 100% Windows 8 compatible at the moment. My advice is un-install Avast and use the built-in Windows 8 Defender or something like Kaspersky. Please only use one anti-virus program at any one time otherwise this can also cause problems.

I've also found a few drivers you might want to update to windows 8 versions if possible or remove/un-install them:

hpdskflt.sys - HP Mobile Data Protection System Disk Filter: Driver Reference Table - hpdskflt.sys
Rt630x64.sys - Realtek PCI/PCIe Adapters: Driver Reference Table - Rt630x64.sys
Accelerometer.sys - HP Mobile Data Protection System Accelerometer: Driver Reference Table - Accelerometer.sys

Thanks, that would actually make sense. I heard that Windows Defender isn't good enough, that's why I installed my long-time favourite free av, Avast. Do you think it's true that Windows Defender is weak? My second bet would be AVG Free 2013. And I have no idea about the other drivers, how do I update them? I had trouble even finding the IDT Audio drivers so my built-in subwoofer would work (HP Pavilion DV7-1130eg), I had to download it from the HP page, but they were from 2009, after some digging, I found a Windows 8 compatible version. So where can I find the other drivers?

I tried Avast when I installed Windows 8 and suffered from a few BSOD's myself, then I shifted to AVG 2013 but a few people were saying it wasn't that great and that Defender was good enough. I have not had any problems with Defender and because it's based on Microsoft Security Essentials (which has always been good) personally I think it's fine and no better or worse than any of the others. This is a matter of choice of course, if you want to use AVG 2013 go ahead but if you're finding that it's causing BSOD's then un-install it and use something else.

The driver reference table provide links to the update driver site where possible. In some cases there will not be a windows 8 version available yet in which case you should un-install/remove it if at all possible, sometimes windows 8 will use its built-in drivers, if not then try and make sure you're using the latest windows 7 drivers for the hardware.

For your convenience I will link to the site which might contain updated win8 drivers for the hardware I listed above, it's worth saying though that if you're not getting BSOD's after un-installing Avast then these update might not be needed:

Rt630x64.sys: Realtek

Thank you very much! If I won't get a BSOD in the upcoming days, I'll mark it as solved. I really wanted to use Windows Defender because it's lightweight but I just heard that it isn't good, well everyone except LifeHacker says it, on LH it's Editors' Choice.
