Unable to boot on four cores / kmode_exception_not_handled

Hello,

Just before christmas I got my new hardware - ready for me to assemble it. When the cable was mounted, and I closed the cabinet - the problems started to occur. The system crashed, and I am currently unable to start windows without limiting the CPU to two cores. I am getting BSOD every time I boot with four cores.

The DVD player is remove again.
The GPU is un-installed, same errors.
One RAM-module at the time is dismounted, same error.
Win8 installation on USB, not same error - but freezes.

I have tried to attach the SF Diagnostic information, let me know if this is the information needed.

Is the CPU dead?
BIOS-settings?

I appreciate all help!

Your attachment is in Norwegian so it does not help.

Since this PC is a home built, I would suggest that you take out the CPU and take a close look if there's any dirt or bent pin then re-seat it. I am not sure if you do any overclocking but if you do, take out the battery for 10' or so then put it back in, set the BIOS to factory default and also make sure all the cables making good contact.

Reboot the PC.

Hello,

I tried what you mentioned - but could not see anything I found wrong. The CPU was mounted within the guiding brackets that is in the 1155-socket.
No overclocking, default settings in the BIOS-setup.

Bios is updated to lateat version. Same results with old and new bios.

I can not choose which cores are active, only the total number of active cores.

Ensure that your SSD has the latest firmware installed.
Ensure that all of your storage controller drivers are the latest available (DO NOT use anything that's not dated from 2012)

Recheck every connection inside the case. Remove and reseat the RAM. Check to make sure that all fans are running and that the heatsink for the CPU is seated properly.

I wonder about the temps inside the system. Please use this free utility to ensure that the temps are OK: HWiNFO, HWiNFO32 & HWiNFO64 - Hardware Information and Analysis Tools
If uncertain, let us know what the temps are.

Please run these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics

Hello

Firmware of SSD is updated (was not ).
Tested the disk, and got approx 150Mbit/s.
memtest86 ran through one time, and found no errors.

I made some screenshots With HWInfo, they are Attached. PLease comment, especially on voltage Levels.
The voltage Levels read in bios seem fine.

I am having diifilculties about some of the drivers (to get all to be 2012 Versions).
The Storage Controller and Samsung SSD 840 are both some Microsoft driver from 2006, and I simply don't know how to do anything about it.
The SATA / AHCI Controller is from 2012.

I also ran te ASUS PC Diagnostic, which appearntly is showing no errors.

Thank you for all advices so far.

It crashes every time I try to run With four cores. It crashes during loading of Windows. The blue screen appears, but only parts of the screen og blue, and only parts of the text appears.
When I run at two cores, the system is very stable.

Even though I set it to dump minidump files, I am not able to locate these dump-files.

Even with 2 cores - if everything passes, then you know it's the CPU.

well, memtest ran fine the other day when I did that test, and I am not able to find an other diagnosis from Samsung than "Samsung Magician - Benchmark Tester"¨.
I downloaded a Inten CPU tester, which yielded "pass".

I was able to choose boot With two processors in Windows, and enable all four in BIOS - and this booted fine. Then I found all four cores under "Device management", but only two With HWInfo and another Software for cpu temp monitoring.

I called the support phone for the shop where I got the Equipment, and they said it would most likely be bent pins. So I removed the CPU again, and double checked for bent pins - not finding anything but all pins at line.

I Guess this looks like it is some hardware issues With motherboard or CPU?

Maybe I forgot to mention that the system did not boot under ubuntu (from usb) either. The error Message there was:
"BUG: unable to handle kernel"

I Will proceed to return the hardware...
