First off, thanks for any and all help in advance. It is GREATLY appreciated.

This is a Windows 8 Pro upgrade from Windows 7 Pro.

First, please see my previous post here for BSODs with my previous Windows 7 Pro install:

BSOD Issues - Windows 7 Forums

The BSOD in that case was caused by my Netgear WNDA3100v2 install. As you see in post #3, and also post #5, the issue is with Netgear's SCMNdisP.sys driver, but I was able to correct the BSOD by removing that, and all references to it, and installing a driver from Microsoft (as explained in my post #5).

Now, going on, I've been lately having a lot of BSODs with Windows 8. Could my problem still be with this Netgear, or something else entirely? I see nothing in the Windows Update history of having installed anything new related to the Netgear, and the SCMNdisP.sys driver is non-existent on my system. I did receive an error warning on the screen today when I came in:

Recovery

Your PC couldn't start properly

The operating system couldn't be loaded because a critical system driver is missing or contains errors.

File: \windows\Sytem32\Drivers\Ntfs.sys
Error code: 0xc0000221

You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your system administration or PC manufacturer.[

Press Enter to try again
Press F8 for Startup Settings
Press F9 to use a different operating system

I hit "Enter" and it started up as usual. After it booted up fully, I then restarted again, and no problems.

One last thing, in your Step 1 of your BSOD posting instructions, which type of dump file do you prefer, the Kernel, Small, or Complete? Maybe I'm missing it, but it doesn't really specific which is best for those analyzing here.

Please let me know if anything else is needed, and thanks so much, again!

Very Sincerely,

BfB

Win7 didn't like wireless USB network devices and it may be that Win8 is the same. Here's my rant about these devices (from Win7 days):
I do not recommend using wireless USB devices. Especially in Win7 systems.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7 - and using Vista drivers with them is almost sure to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have Win7 drivers - DO NOT use Vista drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.

I'm running late for work, so I'll post these other items in hopes that it'll help you:

Please let us know the make/model/wattage and age of your Power Supply.

Try these hardware diagnostics as time allows (there's a possibility that this could be hardware): Hardware Diagnostics

lease update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :
