bsod on shutdown II

First off, although these are traumatic problems to those experiencing them, they really aren't all that common. BSOD's actually don't occur that often, and aren't a problem for most computer users.

Secondly, this was a problem back when Win8 first came out. Since the problem was discovered it appears that it's been fixed. I may have seen 1 hybrid shutdown issue over the last 6 months.

Lastly, this was a workaround. If you don't need/want the feature, there's no problem with disabling it. And, if you do need it, will you get rid of Win8 just because of this one error (especially in it's infancy?)?

I'm probably speaking from frustration as I'm experiencing this issue off a fresh install on a new build. I just wanted to know what hte prevailing thoughts on the issue were and you have answered that quite well so thank you. I will stick with 8 and just keep hybrid boot disabled.

I've been doing BSOD analysis on the web since around 2005 and I see more BSOD's than most people through this.
I work at a PC repair shop and don't see many BSOD's there, despite seeing 40 to 50 computers a week.

Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis: Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

I understand that you've posted stuff over in the other post, but I'm not going to steal the focus from JustATest
I get very upset when someone jumps into a topic I'm working and takes it in another direction.

Please continue to follow up with JustATest and take his advice.

This is just my opinion and it in no way is a reflection on JustATest's work - it's merely another opinion.

You have 3 hard drives - what is the make/model/wattage and age of your power supply.

SSD's were temperamental when they first came out, but their reliability has improved greatly over the last year or two. There are 2 things that MUST be checked on systems with BSOD's and SSD's:
    1) That the SSD firmware is the latest available for the SSD
    2) That the storage controller drivers on the motherboard are the most recent. They must date from late 2012 or later. This is ALL controllers, not just the one that the SSD is attached to.
Intel Smart Connect Device drivers aren't installed. Please download and install the latest/Win8 compatible version

I have doubts about RainMeter but haven't seen any recent issues with it. It's your call to uninstall it in order to test it (if you'd like).

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

I understand that this would be upsetting but as you will have seen in the thread it appears the information for a resolution had run dry. This thread appeared to present a very similar issue to the one I have and I wanted to know what the prevailing feeling was with errors like these. I value your input on the matter.
