well, I killed the network card, disabled the Vmware services and renamed the vmware-related *.sys files in c:\windows\system32\drivers folders, pressed Fn+F4 and went to sleep. Pressed Fn to wake up - and the computer rebooted. So, I'm attaching the latest batch of minidumps for study

maybe I'm doing something wrong - when you say to disable drivers, exactly what are you expecting me to do?

Win 8 Enterprise RTM upgrade intel

    Rapid Storage Technology (RST)
    drivers + patch

    For your wifi:
intel drivers pour chipsets Reseaux (Lan) & Wifi (Wireless)
or use the built in driver.

    For intel MEI:
    intel drivers pour chipsets

    For Your SD reader
    RICOH Drivers
Or better, use the driver built in windows.

For your eldos callback file system driver (w.t.f.) try to uninstall.

For VMware: try to upgrade to the newest version. Then try to uninstall. We'll see how far we get with that. I hope we don't need a "VMware cleaner" as it seems to be persistent on your system.

Thanks for all your help, I upgraded all the Intel network drivers, but I think what made the difference is that I completely removed VMware Workstation 9, Which is depressing since I really need VMW for my work.

Has automax or anyone found a solution to this problem? I am having the exact same issues on my Lenovo T530 after installing VMWare Workstation 10 on Windows 8 Pro. BSOD after sleep. System restore to previous state reverts the issue. I cannot find any other thread on the net describing this issues other than this one.

Never completely licked the issue, but did reduce the frequency by undocking and pulling out the power cable before going to sleep and coming out of sleep still disconnected. Also, I used the Wifi drivers directly from, rather than those offered by Lenovo. I'm also on VMW10 now, too, and it seems that I have a new problem now - total freeze with no dump file to analyze. Looking forward to 17/oct when I can refresh with Windows 8.1

Amazingly, Windows 8.1 upgrade appears to have resolved the issue! Glad to get that resolved.
