Installed windows 8 pro x64 few weeks ago and i start getting various BSOD while surfing the web (waterfox browser), but i'm not sure to say that is the cause. most of them have DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION.
hope somebody can help, thanks in advance

Welcome
I have checked your reports and they are consistent, reference was made to your anti virus and your network driver.
Create a system restore point so we can go back if necessary.
Uninstall Avast
Replace with the Windows Defender, which is part of the operating system
Then use your computer
If Bsods continue, upadate your network driver. Go to the approriate website to do the same.

thanks for your support richc46. i was thinking about the antivirus as the main problem. i have updated my realtek LAN drivers few days ago, but as you can see i had a DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION today. is windows defender a fulltime antivirus in windows 8 or should i start looking for an avast alternative?

If you want the best protection, use what I have, and suggested here many times.
Use Windows Defender and then dowload and use the free Malwarebytes for a once a week scan.
