When i shut down my pc, i get a BSOD when the pc is in the process of closing everything.
My screen is allready in standy, but then it comes alive with a BSOD.
Then the pc starts up again and when i shut down directly after it has done its start up procedure nothing is going wrong and it shuts down properly.
But when i use the pc for while and want to shut it down, i can get the whole BSOD all over again.

Can you please help me?

kind regards,

Ernst

Welcome
Your reports are not conclusive. One driver

Ha20x22k.sys file description
Productname:
Creative Audio Product
Description:
Creative 20X2 HAL (WDM)
Company:
Creative Technology Ltd

was mentioned several times. Update driver from the website or uninstall software. If that does not work, post back and we will give you a driver verifier test. If that is negative, it points to hardware and we shall go from there.

thanks for responding.

I saw the Ha20x22k.sys driver mentioned also, but wasn't sure. Now i have deinstalled the whole audio package (software that is) of my Auzentech audio card and my problem seems to have disappeared.
I still have audio, i guess win8 has taken over, but i lost all the surround goodies needed for playing games.
Auzentech (and many other audio card manufacturers) lack in updating their drivers to win8,, really a shame.

I will try to get my full audio back, when i install it in compat. mode (?)

I feel your frustration. I had it with Vista and switched to Seven. Just a personal observation, I would never go from Seven to Eight. Eight is not right for me, although it may be great for others.

LOL me also... actually it wasn't that funny at the time.
I read a bit on the net and now know that new win8 drivers from creative will be released and since auzentech is relying on creative, i just have to wait, which just plain s..... isn't nice.

Anyway thanks for helping.

edit1:
I installed the auzentech/creative drivers again with driver signing disabled and in win7 compat. mode. And off course the shutdown BSOD.
I tried the sleep mode and that one seems to work well. For now i will use the sleep mode instead of shut down till new drivers solve this problem.

edit2:
Today i read on the Auzentech site:
Auzentech announces Windows 8 release schedule for Sound Card Drivers
This totally s*cks, since they could have arranged sometime for over a year ago when win8 dev. was available.
