    Strange Windows 8 boot...

Hi! I'm foxtochop, new in the forum. Hope you'll help me with some problems, and hope you'll ignore my bad english...

I always turn my PC off after doing homework etc... and I leave it off for hours. The thing is when I turn on it the boot screen takes only 2 sec. and then it turns black and doesn't show the login screen. I got to reboot it and then boots normally.

    Why this happens?

Windows 8 Pro with Media Center Edition.

Generally the display is driven by the OS through the video driver - I used to have that on the CP build in the past with specific NVidia cards, and driver updates generally fixed it for most devices I saw it on. Have you considered going to NVidia.com and updating the driver to the latest yet?

The drivers are updated to the lastest version (NVIDIA GT 440, drivers version: 306,97).

I don't think the drivers cause that issue. On the first boot the boot screen shows so fast the round animation and stays 2 sec. and then the screen goes black, but when I restart the boot screen appears properly.

I don't know what is. But I don't think the graphic card has something to do with it.
