I keep getting this error and am guessing it's from my ATI Graphics card. I cannot operate the computer normally it keeps restarting me. I've read in other places this could mean Windows 8 won't work on my machine. If this is the case please tell me so I return my digital purchase of Windows 8.

Thank you

I can't do that anymore, I reverted to 7. This is a similar problem to the other ones who have it. I'll wait for a known fix for Studio 1558 laptops for Windows 8.

I sure will, you're prompt and courteous. I just am fearing that there never will be a fix for the Studio 1558 as it is discontinued.

Even I am the one of the ones waiting for the fix.. For now I have disabled the graphics card and running on the integrated graphics card...

Hi.. I also own a Studio 1558 laptop and faced the same issue of laptop crashing every now and then..I found a solution for this.. After installing windows 8 just go to your device manager, open ATI Radeon mobility 5000 series device , update driver. You will be prompted for searching driver from the internet. Do that. After downloading the updated drivers it says Driver installation complete. And Voila! no crashes thereafter.

Are u sure there are no crashes at all?? Because even I tried and it installs the driver with some June date.. But they are better than the earlier one. But still crashes at times.. Can u please post the driver date and driver version?? :)
