hello, guys.. I'm a newbie here... So, I'm sorry if I post this in wrong thread...

I have some problems (actually frustrating problem) with my Desktop IE10 on Windows 8 Pro RTM MSDN Trial... Here is the problem...

If I open a website (any website, including very standard website like sourceforge) suddenly in task manager, many processes of 'Windows Problem Reporting' came and made IE10 somehow lagging and I couldn't even scroll smoothly or click a link or do something... Sometime, I couldn't even close IE

Here is the picture of those processes

I already checked if there were any viruses, but avast and Windows Defender didn't find anything...

IE10 in Metro works smoothly and didn't introduce this error like IE10 in Desktop

So someone please help me.. because I really love IE10 and currently I am not using any other browsers... Thank you...

Hi Agan. Welcome to EightForums. Did you try a refresh? It's something new in 8 to fix files and replace missing ones. I'm on my phone now. Please do a search on refresh in tutorials.

First, thanks for the response :D Do you mean refresh the Windows? No, I don't want to do that because it means all of my apps are gone except my files right? but, I'll try if it's the only solution available :geek:

Refreshing your PC goes like this:

  • The PC boots into Windows RE (Recovery Environment).
  • Windows RE scans the hard drive for your data, settings, and apps, and puts them aside (on the same drive).
  • Windows RE installs a fresh copy of Windows.
  • Windows RE restores the data, settings, and apps it has set aside into the newly installed copy of Windows.
  • The PC restarts into the newly installed copy of Windows.

sorry I mean Programs or Desktop Apps (I also used MacBook for so long to call it apps now, Programs seems to be 'forgotten' now) will it remain or be deleted instead?

I cant understand why the popup but, open the Action centre and turn off the problem reporting:

Use several different computers during a day, so specs are irrelevant.
I don't think that will make any difference, but I hope!
You could also experiment with turning off the smartscreen filter and the protected mode and see if it rids the lag.

already solved it... :D with refresh the PC... but yeah, it proved costly because I lost around 4 F1 games worth of 20 GB and many other utilities because of this.. But, my IE is back to normal now :) thanks for your and others' reponses
