Hi there
I've tried to KILL this wretched browser questionnaire - I'm using W8 Enterprise RTM ( X-64) from TechNet -- US version.

If I click Continue --IE just offers all sorts of B/S about IE9 (nothing about IE10) and just Hangs if I try and go further.

If I delete the whole wretched piece of B/S I just get prompted again the next time I connect to the Internet.

What's up here -- I got my copy of W8 from a LEGAL subscription -- US, my registration is Iceland -- not yet (and maybe never) a part of the EU -- at least not until after a forthcoming referendum, but just because I logon on via a Hotel's wifi system in Brussels I get prompted for this B/S browser stuff.

OK if it works but at least it should offer current versions like IE10.

The whole thing is total nonsense anyway --but at least it SHOULD WORK.

My browser is currently IE10 -- I don't need all this B/S to install IE9.

Screenshot enc.

Cheers
jimbo

Hi jimbo,

Hi there
then it just re-installs again at the next update.

I think the only way to kill it is to choose say Chrome -- then manually install IE10 then un-install chrome etc.

Why they need all this B/S about a browser I really haven't a clue - but there we are. My gripe is also that it offers you a BACK LEVEL version of IE and then causes your system to hang if you are on W8 RTM Enterprise.

Cheers

Yes, I understand your frustration jimbo, it's a nuisance when you set for automatic update. This is the result of a meaningless ruling by the EU, I believe.
