IE10 keeps crashing on me

On a variety of sites -- YouTube, eBay, FoxNews.com, etc -- IE10 (the desktop, non-Metro version) crashes twice and then gives up, returning this error message:

"When a website causes a failure or crash, Internet Explorer attempts to restore the site. It stops after two tries to avoid an endless loop."

If you google that error, you get some MS suggestions on how to fix it in IE9. The auto fix doesn't run under Win8, and clearly doesn't apply anyway, and the manual suggestion to reset IE didn't work. Any other suggestions?

Try flushing the dns, it might clear the broken links. Run cmd prompt as admin, enter " ipconfig /flushdns" without the quotes. HTH.

Tried that too -- and thanks for sticking with me. No dice. I'm thinking maybe I should reinstall IE 10. This is the desktop version, btw, not the Metro version. Not sure HOW to reinstall, however, since clearly you can't download it from MS. Any other ideas?

I have a similar problem but, how do i get internet explorer to open? it keeps crashing before it even opens to allow me access to the tools.

It opens, hangs, displays nothing then close. No error or other info is provided. Would "flushing the dns" as was suggested possibly help?

no go

Greetings,

Unfortunately that did not due the trick. I have to admit I'm not a fan of IE, never was never will be. Possibly it has something to due with the updates. I just waving in the wind because, I'm not much of a repair or diagnostics person.

I did get a message which is about six pages (kiddin) but it is large. I cannot make out anything within in that seems remotely familiar, as to what program it has to do with. If you want I could probably post it here, so you can get a look at it.

Thanks
