Hi there
Back in UK for a weekend visit to London to see some friends before the Olympic Games (Will avoid London like the plague during those Games --travel is horrendous at the best of times --I shudder to think what will happen when all those extra visitors are around and you get the "inevitable signal failure" on a busy tube line) so I logged on to SKY GO (SKY TV's online TV service --usually works fine).
Anyway get message "Your Browser is no longer supported -- try upgrading to IE8" !!!!!!.
I'm currently on Windows 8 with the LATEST version of IE !!! don't these I.T Scrobbits ever KNOW what is happening in the current market --W8 is likely to be released soon -- a lot of Sky Go customers won't be amused.!!!!
Fiddling around with compatability mode / popup blockers etc etc -- did nothing.
Please I.T developers -- check for Version XXX of a piece of software and if poss let LATER versions also use your application if it can -- or just say we haven't updated our software to use the latest version of I.E (or whatever).
Telling me to "Upgrade my browser" when I've got the latest already installed would cause me if I were I.T manager to FIRE the developers . Probably these developers were the same lot that the Nat West Bank etc used which caused their recent outages leaving people "Seriously financially embarrassed" for up to 3 weeks.
(Got it to work on a W2003 server Virtual Machine BTW - but shouldn't have to do that).
Cheers
jimbo
