How To Uninstall IE 10 With Windows 8

Hello, I am looking for installing IE 6 because I want to test my created sites as IE 6 displays errors about site scripts.

I'm using Windows 8, IE 10 comes built in with it. So when I tried to install IE 6, it detect that there is a latest version of IE already installed, so it discontinued.

I want to know is there any way to uninstall IE 10, so that I can install IE 6.

I didn't found a way to uninstall from Control Panel, as it comes built in with OS.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Enter this into Windows Explorer:
    shell:::{67718415-c450-4f3c-bf8a-b487642dc39b}
then you should lead to "Windows Features - Turn Windows features on or off" similar like this.

    Thanks for early way.

But unfortunately that doesn't uninstall IE, instead it only turns it off for temporary.

    Still getting same error:

    Any other suggestions?

IE6 is not compatible with Windows 8 full stop so you'll never be successful. It is practically obsolete, see: IE6 Countdown and IE10 can't be uninstalled, only disabled as you've found out.

I would re-enable IE10 in Windows Features if I were you as many processes rely upon it.

You could however install a Virtual Machine and run XP on it if you have an XP SP3 installation disk hanging around, that would give you IE6 although personally I would upgrade any XP installation to IE8 for safety's sake.

You are testing stuff and want to do it on a test operating system, so it isn't surprising it's a problem.

I think a Virtual Machine would be your best route. See the Tutorials under 'V' for 2 choices.

I use Virtualbox by Oracle and find it pretty easy to set up.

In Windows 7, we have the option to uninstall IE 9 using Windows Updates:

But it seems MS has remove that way . I thing it may be due to involvement of Metro in IE.

I don't want to go out for quadruple boot, as I'm running three OS already

Well I quad-boot and even have 2 separate VM's contained within 2 of those. It's made really easy if you install EasyBCD on the 1st partition and use iReboot on each one to boot between systems. See NeoSmart Technologies

You could uninstall IE9 in Windows 7 simply for the reason that IE8 was the default version that came with the system and when you uninstall IE9, it reverts to IE8 automatically.

VM's aren't contributing to the number of boot systems...as they are simply contained within one of the already established ones.

Oh, sorry. As I haven't got W8 yet, I couldn't test it as I usually test programs before I recommend them.
