Anyway to either pin IE Desktop to Start?

Either pin Desktop IE or change the IE tile to default to Desktop and not Metro?

    Hello J4rrod,

You could use the tutorial below with the setting below to do this.

Open windows explorer and set it to show hidden and system files.
Then go to Program File (x86) > Internet Explorer. Right click iexplore.exe and select Pin To Start.

Start Screen - Pin or Unpin App, Folder, or Drive in Windows 8

A shortcut will be placed in Users > (Your User Name) > AppData > Roaming > Microsoft > Windows > Start menu > programs.
In there you can rename it to what ever you like, otherwise it will just say iexplore on the tile on the Metro Start Screen. The Metro Internet Explorer shortcut will also be in that folder, I renamed mine to Metro Internet Explorer.

Hi. How can I take an apt tile from the win 8 start screen and pin it to the desktop as an icon like you can do the same but in reverse. Start to desktop not desktop to start. I know that one. Thank you, Dave:think: ps. I'm new to this forum system and don't know how to properly thank people...
I don't have a use at all for the metro screen. It's not a big deal as it only takes a click to get to the desktop, but it would be nicer if I had the choice of just going straight there. Do I? I've right clicked all over the place looking for an option like that. Haven't been able to find it.
I am running Start8 on my ASUS Q2OOe Laptop and even though I have Start8 set to open to the desktop on boot it doesn't always do that. About 1 time in 5 cold starts it remains at the start screen and I have to click on the desktop tile to get there. If I reboot from 'Restart' it seldom happens. ...
