Hi,
I just bought a new notebook with Windows 8.1 und do not manage to get the Mail program started.
I am using 8.1 with a local user only, I do not want to register with a Microsoft account.
I searched in a couple of forums, and then changed some settings via regedit (MSAOptional in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System)
Now the Mail program is not asking for a Microsoft account any more and directly brings me to a start screen where I can enter a mail address and password. However, when I enter my gmail address and pw, I get an error message 'We cannot find settings for xxx@gmail.com'. I also tried to go into the settings menu of the Mail programm (which appears on the right side of the screen>), but there are no options to add an account or similar.Does anyone know how to get the mail program running?
