How do I get out of one website and still remain on Internet Explorer ?

I mean, I can get out of Internet Explorer and go back to desktop. But, when I click IE, I am right back to the page I was at.
Very irritating. Felt like I am back as a computer beginner.

Are you referring to Metro IE? If so, right click somewhere on the web page to see the navigation bar at the bottom and the tab switcher at the top. You can also use winkey + z.

Selecting winkey + C whilst in IE, will raise the charm bar, select settings to modify IE. If you have any pinned sites, as you start to type in the navigation bar, you'll see any that match.

Thank you. I don't like that setup at all.

Now, will the next issue be in your area of expertise ?

In Win 7, I go to you-tube, select a song/video and play it.
In Win 8, I go to yo-tube, select a song/video, but can't play it. There is no pPlay button to push.

Metro IE doesn't support flash or other plugins. If you want to watch Youtube, with that version of the browser, the videos will have to be HTML5. Alternatively, when in Metro IE, right click the window and select the 'wrench' - bottom right - then select View on desktop.

Thank you.
When Win 8 final version comes out, count me out.:sarc:

No, I had you-tube on desktop via "wrench " > View on desktop. Still no play button.

Seems to be working here. Which version of flash do you have installed? Also, have you tried playing videos from anywhere else, such as vimeo?

He means from another site, outside of YouTube. Might be easier for you to just get the you tube player. I'm using Windows 8cp, and you tube as well never ran into that problem.

Found out what Vimeo is from google.
No, I don't care to pay for it.

And, no I have yet to try playing video from anywhere else. I rarely search for videos from the web.

You-tube player system requirements do not include Win 8.

Vimeo is free.

For Flash videos to work on 8, which includes most YouTube video, install Flash: Download Flash Player 11.2.202.235 (IE) 64-bit - FileHippo.com
The link will make it work in I.E. - the non I.E. link shown there is to make it work on Firefox or Chrome.
