Hi hgrock,

First, right-click on a blank space of the Start Screen and click the "All apps" button on the pop-up charm bar at the bottom. This will bring up the expanded version of the Start Screen. In the left few columns you should see an icon for the Store. Right click it and click "Pin to Start Screen" in the charm bar at the bottom. This should place it back in easy reach, so to speak.

When in the Store, please go to the Productivity column and click on the word "Productivity". If you're not familiar with the Store, this will bring up a list of everything in that section. The second button down will be a combined version of all the apps you need, it's green. :) Keep in mind, for these to work properly you must be signed into your Microsoft Account.

Hope this helps...

John

Thanks JCClouser the instruction you gave was spot on, the only problem is this App won't install, I get "Something happened this App won't install" with the option to try again or uninstall.
But in the Store there is a Green box icon "Apps you have installed, when I open this there are the mail etc. but no option to reinstall, not having this App is not a great loss because I access my mail via windows live and Gmail, but I like the ease of use all the mail in one place

Hmmmm....Here's what I would like you to do.... We need to correct any errors or corruptions in the Win 8 files and Metro.

Please bring up an elevated Command Prompt. This can be done by one of two ways:

First, go to the "All apps " screen from Start. Find the Windows system Group on the far right and right click Command Prompt. Choose run as administrator on the pop up charm bar at the bottom. This will take to the Desktop. There please enter the following in the prompt window:

sfc /scannow (make sure there is a space between "sfc" and the forward slash)

Hit Enter. The process will take a while, so be patient. :)

Second, from the Desktop, place your cursor in the lower left corner of your screen. When the large Start Screen icon appears, do a right click. This brings up a nice pop up menu. Find "Command Prompt (Admin)" and click it. Enter the above mentioned command, and go get a cup of coffee or tea.

When the process is finished, it will tell you that it fixed any corrupted files. Close the window and go to the Start Screen. You should see the icons for Mail, People, Messaging, and Calendar. If you don't see all of them, they are a group from the Store, therefore they must all be uninstalled, before you can reinstall any one of them.

Hope this helps,

John

Thanks JC - I too had uninstalled the mail app and couldn't find the app store for sake of looking. I didn't think to go into the 'App', that said 'Store' and re-download it from there *blush*

I've only been playing around with W8 for a few days but I'm sold on the new OS - I'll do the switch.
