please help

i have installed opera 26 and it works. the problem is that when i go to the about tab and click on it - it shows it is a 64 bit version but when i look it in my task manager it shows as a 32 bit version.

so what version of java should i install 32 bit or 64 bit or does opera not require java ???

once again to all that has replied to posts.

thank you

Your computer, as is mine, x64.
Opera is a 32 bit browser. :)

Screenshots of mine would show the same as yours.

why does opera need to tell me what my operating system bit version is ?? isnt it only supposed to tell me about itself ??

when you click on the "about" tab is it supposed to be about opera or about my windows installation ??? i didnt read though everything my eye just caught 64 bit as i was very much in a hurry. i assumed it was just about opera.

apologies for my stupidity

though why does it tell me about my own system when the tab says "about opera" ??

is my logic clogged up or something ??

thanks anyways for the help and as always you guys have been very helpful. it seems as if i should have reasd everything completely from the bottom to the start.

thanks any ways and a great day for all.

Odoudu, Your logic isn't clogged up at all. Opera developers write their own program and they can put any information they feel like on their "About Opera" screen. They could write the time of day or a weather forecast - it is up to them. They probably (I don't work for them) add your CPU information as they think it would be interesting.

If you have a 64 bit OS you really shouldn't worry about if you are running 32 or 64 bit programs. Chrome was only 32 bit until last year - this is not because Google are lazy or not following the times (as there have been 64 bit OS since 1973) but rather it was more convenient and possibly even better.

If you look around the net you'll find plenty of people talking about performance and memory and pointers in regard to 32 or 64 bit programs. It is all rubbish.
