Issue: After updating to Chrome version 39.0.2171.99 m, the taskbar icons refresh (turn to white pages then back) on every launch of the browser.
Fix: The latest version of Chrome features a new profile management system within the browser. Once Chrome has updated, this feature is accessed through an icon beside the Window buttons ( Minimize, Restore, and Close).
Disabling this feature through the flags menu fixes the said issue.
1. Type chrome://flags into Chrome's omnibox/address bar.
2. Search for "Enable new profile management system" (Tip: Hit Ctrl+F and type the keywords)
3. Change the setting to "Disabled"
4. Relaunch Chrome
Hope this helps
