Solved Uninstalling Chrome

Trying to uninstall and reinstall chrome ......... get message that I need to close all chrome windows including start page (Win8.1) ........I have no idea how to determine what chrome based images they are referring to ...

Go to Task Manager and close all Chrome processes.

You might want to consider using Chromium instead. I switched over when my favorite Browser updates site was stopped (by Google) from posting the full update versions of Chrome.

It's easier to use than Chrome. You download the Zip file, uncompress it to a folder (chrome-win32), and when done, copy that folder to the Program Files folder. Then, when a new update comes out (usually every 2 or 3 days), you repeat that process and Chromium gets updated -- leaving all of your bookmarks and settings intact in the process.

I have also received that message. Just restart the computer, solved mine.
