I usually just use google.com but if I want to concentrate on local searches I use google.co.za (as I live in South Africa)

I have created a shortcut on my taskbar pointing to google.co.za .... I guess you could do the same, but use google.co.uk ?

I use Chrome and the default search is Google.co.uk

3 bars > Settings > Show advanced settings > Language and input settings... > Add languages to the list. You will need English (United Kingdom) > drag this to the top > Click on "Display Google Chrome in this language", and "Use this language for spell checking" > Finished. Relaunch Chrome.

If you still find it comes up with Google.com then go to Windows Control Panel > Language > set for English (United Kingdom) also bottom left of that Set location to United Kingdom.

It is probably this latter point that does it, I seem to be stuck on Google.co.uk as you require.

Despite google.com still being listed in the search engines for Chrome mine always comes up with google.co.uk. from the Omnibox(address bar). Also at bottom right of the Google.co.uk (bookmarked page) search page is "use google.com" as an option.
