Solved Firefox update problem

When opening firefox it prompts:

'Firefox is installing your updates and will start in a few moments.'

but after the bar runs through it gives an error:

'The update could not be completed. Please make sure there are no other copies of firefox running on your computer, and then restart Firefox to try again.'

I click ok and every time I open firefox it does the same thing.

Firefox is not running I've rebooted, checked task manager, closed firewall, not really sure what is going on.

If this is a firefox update, I run version 11,.. Updated windows recently

Any ideas...?

Just remove the old version (11) and make a clean install of the latest version (12) of firefox.

note: On Uninstall I made sure I clicked saved preferences. It has saved all my bookmarks and cookies, passwords etc.
