I deactivated IE (via Programs & Features - Windows Products) some years ago and have used Firefox/Waterfox ever since.
My query is Why, whenever I run Ccleaner there are always Temporary Files and Cookies in IE to be removed?
How are files getting into IE when it is deactivated and not in use.
Perhaps someone can solve this puzzle please.

I just checked mine.
I never use it but there were some auto-update files in CCleaner for IE.

Maybe something is updating even though it is turned off.
Just a guess. :(

The Temporary Internet Files folder is not just used by Internet Explorer. It is also used by Windows Explorer and Windows Desktop Search as well. It may also be used by other Windows components. The details are undocumented.

If you disable WinINet cache task, inetcache files will not be recreated, except container.dat .
