How do I keep Internet Explorer "Frequent Blocks"?

Internet Explorer has this nice feature that shows the sites you have visited most frequently under "Frequency" when it starts up - I'm using "Use new tab" as the default start screen. Unfortunately, whenever you tell IE to Delete Browsing History it clears the Frequency blocks. I suspect this information is stored in a cookie(?) but don't have a clue which one. I use CCleaner most of the time to clean up the system so if I knew what cookie to put in it's "don't delete list" all would be well. I'm sure I'm not the only person with this issue and it has probably been solved by someone so....help would be appreciated.

Hi there. Are you speaking of Modern IE "Frequent menu" via pressing F4 such as this?

If so, that is a part of your History and not recorded in a cookie. You'd have to set CCleaner not to delete History. Depending on how you have "History saving age" set in desktop IE, you can go into desktop IE to delete History individually by right clicking for the context menu to do so. I'd imagine we'd have to keep "Today" to keep Frequent.

BTW, I believe they would be called tiles in Frequent menu.

Thank you. I guess I'm obsessed with the @#$% cookies. I turned off delete history in IE and CCleaner and the Frequent Blocks remain. I don't know how long IE will keep the history but I can deal with that as you have shown. Thanks again.

    You're quite welcome.

How are you coming up with that page?

I never noticed this (below), although they keep adding to the Modern apps all the time. Now I'm wondering if history and cookies are kept for Modern IE and desktop IE separately. Also, settings in both might be different. I'll experiment some time. Try turning on "Keep data for favorites when deleting history". I wonder if "favorites" and 'Frequent" are the same thing?

Open Modern IE> Right click empty space to bring up the Tabs/Address bar > Tap/click on Tools wrench > Tap/click on Options in the popup context menu.

In the Options menu Tap/click "Select" under the History.

Turn on "Keep data for favorites when deleting history".

BTW, I'm not a big fan of cookies either. A necessary evil so to speak.

Having a Lumia Windows phone 8.1, AT&T and other carriers got caught placing a super cookie on the phone to track surfing history. I know AT&T bowed out of it after much complaining. Don't know about other carriers though.

hi guys, whenever a second screen opens in IE10, and you want to close it, Windows always asks "Close all Tabs" and everytime one has to change this in "Close Current Tab". I want the Close Current Tab to be the default forever. Any ideas Jeff
It works like this. You have a tile for IE 10 on your Metro interface. If you make another browser your default browser, the IE tile will send you to the desktop IE. On the desktop, this is not a problem, as you can install the icon for another browser. But you cannot install a tile for another...
