Problem getting flash player to enable

I am running win 8.1 with ie11 I have tried most of the stuff in google search but cannot get my adobe flash player to respond. I will go to play a vid on Facebook or whatever and it says I need flash player the ensuing test says its installed I have checked that active x is as it should be, but no success whatever...Any idea's. It doesn't appear in the add on section

Not listed as Shockwave Flash Object ?


Click the gear icon in top right corner of IE11

- Click Manage Add-ons

- Verify that Shockwave Flash Object is enabled.


If that does not work, reset IE 11.

- Click gear icon

- Click Internet Options - Advanced - Reset

Thanks for the info I tried all of the suggestions but shockwave does not appear in the add on section although my system has it.

Flash is integrated in IE 11, it updates with windows update, do you have all new updates ?

As stated by Mike, verify you have the latest Windows update for Flash. You stated you reset IE 11. Do the same again and select the option "Delete Personal Settings" Also, have you did a malware scan with your AV?






Did you try a System Restore ?

At another post I mentioned that ie11 is not responding and so cannot employ your suggestion at thuis time...Thanks for the input though iknownuffin70

PS Yes I also tried system restore, sfc / scannow etc.
