This just started yesterday. Even after the latest update (today), the problem continues. I have Firefox set to open links in a New Tab. If I click a link on my homepage (Google News), the new tab opens then promptly freezes. Even if I click the + to open a new blank tab, it freezes.
I created a "new places database" (rename the files places.sqlite to places.sqlite.old and places.sqlite-journal to places.sqlite-journal.old), no change.
I started Firefox with addons disabled, no change.
If I right click a link and "open in new window", I don't have any problems. I did a refresh about 3 weeks ago (thanks Kaspersky, NOT). And slowly put everything back in. I didn't notice anything wrong until last night when I went looking for an addon at Mozilla's site. The addon page loaded fine, when I clicked on the install, it froze.
How about a Firefox Reset ? Hardware acceleration in options use to cause me an issue with opening firefox would be slow, either a graphics card driver update or plug in set to ask to activate i believe solved my issue.
