    Mozilla new plug in

Seems Mozilla Firefox added a new Plug in as of Oct. 14 2014 without knowing it.

Wondering to keep it always active, said it is used for Video playback and video chat, a codec.

That's part of the HTML5 support. Companies like Microsoft and Adobe insisted on making the official video codec for HTML5 one that supports DRM, so h.264 instead of something completely open source. Either way, I support it if it means the death of Flash, which I tend to hate with the burning passion of a thousand suns. I'd support it even more if it were a completely open solution, which is kind of the founding principle of the web, making content universally accessible, but anything that gets rid of Flash is a step in the right general direction in my book.

I agree, adobe is a security risk, but usually had no choice for sites that required it and Java was no better. Yes would be good to have a replacement, i kind of thought this may be too. But wonder if this would be any better yet, can handle all content yet.

The reversible USB Type-C standard has now been finalized, which should save the world untold man-hours in mis-plugging. Roughly the size of a current micro-USB Type-B connector, it uses matching rows of contacts on the top and bottom so that you can shove it in either way around. Type-C is a...
