Hi, I have a problem with my Outlook email, on wife`s laptop, when I try to open it says page not available, tried uninstall and re- install. Tried to use system restore that would not work either. I ran Sfc, it said had errors could not fix. I Ran Dism/online/cleanup-image/restorehealth, and Sfc again, all fixed. Still no email. Still no restore. All works fine on desktop. Any suggestion please. Also, what do I look for in services to find if system restore is running. Have looked on forums but only found how to use . Thanks again.

Is the laptop running Win7 or 8 (both listed in your specs) ?

Did you actually run system restore and receive a message that said "no restore points" or something similar ?

I am not familiar with Outlook and there may be another method. But if running Win8, I would consider a System Refresh which will restore your registry settings and folders while preserving your personal files.

Hi, thanks for reply, The laptop is running Windows 8. I tried system restore, it went through process and at the end it said it did not work and no files were changed. This is were I ran Sfc and Dism bits. All files reported as ok. I can run system refresh but, as windows is ok and outlook is a separate programme, I would like to find out why it is not working. Looking through your links now. Thanks again.:thumb:

Hi again, I think I have solved problem. I checked security settings in internet options(advanced), and noticed that in windows 8 on my desktop, only SSL 3 and TLS 1. were ticked whereas on laptop TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 were ticked. I un ticked 1.1 and 1.2 and restarted after each and when I only had SSL 3 and TLS 1. ticked, it worked fine. Fingers crossed it stays ok, but still don't know reason. On checking web it seems others have similar problems, and they appear to blame Internet Explorer 10.:dinesh:
