Pictures and info in tabs won't show up

This happens on IE, Firefox, and Chrome. I updated Flash and Java. The browsers are also updated.

    1. For some sites Like Lands End, the picture won't load. Here is an example: Women's Squall Parka from Lands' End
    2. On other sites like Macy's I can't get certain tabs to work like the Reviews section. There are reviews, but nothing shows up. Here is an example: Tyler Rodan Mandalay Crossbody - All Handbags - Handbags & Accessories - Macy's

This happens on other sites as well, especially like the 2nd problem. What should I do to fix it? Thank you.

Some scripts (Javascript) seem to be blocked, that's why you have these problems. I just checked the links you gave, the same thing as you describe happens when I disable Javascript (no pictures for the first, only reviews for the second)

Since it happens on all browsers, my bet is you have some security program, probably your Anti-Virus, that filters these scripts. Try to disable it and reload these pages to check. If it works then you found your culprit and need to explore the options in it that filters/block javascript (maybe in Internet Security). Or you could uninstall it and rely on the built-in Windows Defender which never has problems like this.

I tried reloading the pages and it didn't help. I also disabled AVG and I still have those problems. I'm not sure why it's blocked. Javascript is enabled on the browsers. Could it be another issue?

This could be related to any application that filters javascript. AVs are usually the problem, but they are not the only ones. Maybe an ad-blocker ? An "optimizer" ? Extensions installed in your browsers too (NoScript or similar). Or even malware I guess. Anything really.

Scan your PC for malware. Do a full scan with AVG then get a second/third opinion in case it missed something.
    I recommend :

I checked the IE options and it's correct. I'll still scan for viruses, just to be safe.

I think it is from the MVPS HOSTS file. I used HostsXpert to restore the Windows HOST file. Now the sites work. Is a HOST file like the MVPS one necessary? Or, how can I determine what part of the file blocked the Javascript on those pages?

MVPS hosts file acts like an adblocker basically, with thousands of ad-network hostnames blocked by default.

For example, in your first link, the website loads Javascript from multiple hostnames. To see the images you need access to :
    s7.landsend.com (images on the right)
    resx.landsend.com (images on the left)

If any of them is in the hosts file then the images won't show up. At some point this website used these adresses to host ads for its campaigns, and they were added to MVPS hosts file.

To know what scripts a page loads, you can view the source in HTML. Or you can use developer tools which are available on most browsers. In IE for example, press F12, then CTRL+4. Click on the green Play icon. Then go to a website or refresh the page if already there. Everything the page loads should show up. Every item with < script > in the Initiator column is what interests us, and the URL column provides where the script is loaded from.

I think if you want less ads, you are better off building your own host file. You could also use an adblocker extension specific for each browser (https://adblockplus.org/ works on major browsers). Be aware that like MVPS hosts files, AdBlockers have a list of predefined URLs to block by default : some things might be considered as ads and blocked even though they might be legitimate. So again, in case of problems you'll have to configure it to allow what you want.

Thank you for answering. I'll look through the HOST File. Maybe I can fix it or something. I have Adblock Plus on Firefox. I can try it on IE and Chrome.

    Restricting sites helps, using a wildcard {*.sleaze.com}
